Hi umer, well sometimes the thunder as it is so loud, and the wind is a difficult one to sleep through as sometimes I can hear it throwing things around outside, even metal chairs. But mainly it's if i hear any strange sounds scuttling outside in the total blackness which leave me wondering what it could be, it may just be an innocent donkey or goat, or it could be something more sinister such as a pole cat or pig or even an immigrant worker intent on foul deeds.

During my examinations I am inevitably awake at night not only due to tension but because I never finish the syllabus earlier.Occasionally if I am undergoing some emotional problems,I stay awake and just cannot manage to sleep. In fact it happened yesterday only.I had a quarrel with my boyfriend and sat up all night, crying! But I find a certain sense of thrill, keeping awake all by myself and with silence all around. It helps me contemplate on my life and take decisions, sometimes.

Same problem with me, i mostly do study in exams days. I was continuing my study till last moment of exam time, even In my physics paper, i was studying in separate empty class, i was 15 minutes late in exam class which held in other room, which increased my tension. After this i never do study half hour before the exams starts. lol

Stress keeps me awake and if the t.v. is too loud that also keeps me from sleeping as well or people being talking loud.

when I am preparing for a test, which of course is a remote memory though I am going to take the TOEFL test this Saturday. During my preparation, if I am really sleepy, I make strong coffee, which I find seldom work on me. Or I slash my face with cold water to keep me awake. Yet the most effective approach for me is my self-decipline which keeps me from my bed.

This is a job for......Coffee! The caffeine in coffee stimulates your brain cells to help you stay awake. Coffee is literary the only thing that can keep me awake on late nights. However, there have been some others things that have been keeping me awake like very loud music or when you hit your head against something. These are obviously not the best things to do but they surely do keep me awake!
Also being a student, the tension from exams do not keep me awake but in fact do the opposite, getting tired very quickly.

My school work and exams sometimes keep me up at night. This is one thing that keeps me up. Money sometimes keeps me awake as well. My husband and I are both students, and we both have student loans. It worries us. We live on a tight budget. It's an added stress on both of us. But somehow we'll make it through. These are some of the things that worries me, and can keep me up at night.

Yes, umer. I keeps awake during my exams, when I got paper in the next day, i will keep awake to study all the important chapters. However I will force myself to sleep before I go exam. This to make sure that my brain get rest enough to face the exam. Rest not enough will make me cannot think of the things I memorize. When I'm sad, I will keep awake for the entire night. When I'm having enthusiasm to do a particular jobs or project, I will keep awake to finish it. Or else, I will do until I satisfied with the progress that I had done.

The fact that I don't want to sleep and do the things I have to in the morning.
Yep, it's generally because of stress and pressure of your daily worldly activities. You just have to get through them.

There are many factors why a person keeps awake at night.. For me, what keeps me awake at night is finishing my reviews and tasks needed to be completed for the next day..
Sometimes, when my friends are making calls and chatting with me..also when, Responding to my emails.
especially, if I take coffee to keep me awake at night.

Sometimes, the thought of all the homework that i haven't done, but needs to be handed in the next day. But most of the time I'm too tired anyway and fall to sleep straight away. I have some exams coming up in January too so i guess i'll see nearer the time whether it keeps me awake too. Just before going to sleep all kinds of thoughts go through my mind, but sometimes i have my ipod in and it doesn't happen so much then.
