Do you have the habit of saying prayers before going to sleep??

As a child yes, I used to say prayers before I slept but now I have "grown out" of it and I find praying before I go to bed a waste of time. The only time I pray is when I'm at church or when I'm asking God for something, which is rare because I don't find the time to do it and most of the time I don't know what to ask him. Some of the prayers I've also said, unfortunately never came true and so I started to pray less and less. I, don't have the habit of praying before going to sleep but my dad, at 55 years old still kneels down before his bed and says his prayers, when I tell him why? He won't tell me but he said he's been doing it every day since he was a kid. It's pretty strange to me, but very normal for him. Any how, I respect him a lot and accept his opinions about prayer.

Yes I pray before I sleep and thank God for all the blessings that I received for the day. I also ask for guidance while I sleep.

I don't have this habit. I usually say prayers before doing something important to encourage myself or before eating to thank God for the food I have while there're many others are starving. But, I don't need a courage to sleep, and everybody can sleep without any benediction.

Hi arunkrishnan: i have the habit of saying prayers and i always do it but i prefer to pray in a private area because this makes part of my special relation between god and I. I say my prays that i've learnt since i was a child but i used to thank God for my family, friends, my job and even those things i can't understand. i pray for my enemies, my family, those who i love, those who i must love even more and for those that doesn't love him. Before I go to bed..When I get up, and generally a running dialogue throughout the day. Actually twice before bed if I count the ones I say with my grandson every night when I tuck him in.
