Telepathy - Best form of communication

I read somewhere that a person thought that typing and using e-mail is the worst form of communication, because you only see the words and not really what the person feels. The person said that talking over the phone is slightly better, because you hear their tone of voice, but having face to face conversations is the best - you hear their tone, see their face, and body languages. A face to face conversation was the best. But then I did some thinking, and realized that while talking with someone in this way, they can still lie to your face. They can hide things from you, and in the end you may not really know what's on their mind. So, I say that telepathy is 110% in terms of communication, you know exactly what the other person is thinking! What do you think of telepathy? A good thing to have or not? How would the world change if everyone was telepathic. . .?

Think of all the conspiracies that could have been avoided! All the best chefs who have a 'secret' ingredient to make their recipes the best. They would be uncovered too. Ever heard of graphologists? They read hand-writing and can see the thoughts and personality of people through their writing. They are used a lot here and when applying for jobs, the applicants are often asked to make a hand-written application for that reason. They are also hired in court cases too. I also think that even here we can recognise users through their posts

Yup, if we knew their secret ingredients everyone would cook their "secret" meals all the time. . . Graphologists may be able to read handwriting, but if everyone starts typing instead, what would they do? You may recognize people here but we can easily change our way of typing. It's harder to change handwriting or voice or appearance, but look how easily I can type differently. i can type lik dis nd u prolly wouldnt know its me. But, of course, I'm sure that no one would really change their typing style on purpose. . .

It's not how you type it but what you are typing. We are individuals and as such each one of us is unique. We each have our own way of saying certain things and even if you type it in a different manner, the juice of it is just the same as always

It's like the same present in a different box. . .? The same song but just a different tune. . .? Well, I guess it would be possible in typing, too

to some extent, i agree with you cuz i think the best thing in the world cant described by words,it is just the feeling. but telepathy is not the perfect form cuz all of us need some privacy.through telepathy,we may know all the thoughts about the person you are talking with, none theless, this kind of comunication may not has a good consequence.do you think so?

Absolutely, we do need some privacy and telepathy would not let anyone have any secrets. It may even get harmful. But what I was thinking of was if we could somehow hold back some thoughts, that way some important secrets will not be revealed.

Yes I agree with you that telapathy if it were possible would be the ultimate form of communication because as you say thoughts can never lie.And it sure would be helpfull with girl who are known to mean something other than they say .In that way you would know to remove all the fluff of verbal communication and get to the real feelings

You're right, verbal communication, even while face to face, has many masks and people can hide what they're really feeling. And if everyone knows what everyone feels about them, it would be impossible to misinterpret them, and wouldn't have to be so confused.

I think telepathy may be a little bit too advanced for everyone but chances are that it does exist out there a lot more then we think. We each have telepathy at least a little bit or ESP. I think that if everyone had telepathy it could be bad because there would be the possibly of people reading minds for profit or personal gain. Humanity has proven to take advantage of a good things one too many times I believe.

You're right, if everyone had the power then it would mean that people could use it for their own evil purposes. It is too advanced for humans because most of us would take advantage of it; with telepathy there is a chance that no one would keep things in order.

hearing everyone's thoughts is bad is just like being traped in a horible mell gibson movie ;)) i say that is bether to have a conversation face to face then any other :P

Well, you're probably right, hearing everyone's thoughts may not be such a good idea, but it has it's benefits. A face to face conversation may have lies, but I guess that is just normal.

It would save a lot of time if everyone was telepathic, but it wouldn't be benificial per se. I think some people can or should use it while others definitely should not. Great thing to have, but could be used for evil purposes :

I agree with you, some people should can be trusted with telepathy but others may not be responsible enough to have the power. Many things can go wrong with the ability, especially if everyone could use it. It may save time, but, in the end, there are many flaws in the idea. . .

Hi, merlin. I think that having the telepathy ability would be a great idea. I would like to know exactly what someone else is thinking. That way, I can know the truth. There is actually a show that is based on a guy hearing peoples thoughts. I am not sure if it is Jeremiah or not. It is a great show. It comes on for a hour. I have always wanted to know what someone else is thinking. Having the telepathy ability will work best for me. We all can receive an more honest direct form of communication then.

It would be nice to read peoples' minds, so things would be easier, with everyone knowing the truth. There could be no lies. If people know so much about everyone else, then they would be less likely to do something that would make them feel bad. . .

not good because we can read the minds of others and ourselves without a secret, if everyone have this thing that's must be the problem we will know what are will we do. You or I cannot hide in other place, telepathy can controlling other people through eye.

That's true, a lot of bad things can come from telepathy. If everyone knew what everyone else was thinking then there may be a whole lot of problems that can come from this. It would be impossible to keep a secret or to hide, so bad people can com and get you. . .

I could probably handle telepathy but I think most people couldn't. Brutal honesty would hurt many emotionally, then there would be the constant chatter of minds.A lot of factors to consider.

There would definitely be many problems from the honesty, and it may hurt the mind if there is too many thoughts to listen to. . . But I always thought that we could be trained or get used to it, maybe it is possible to live with it.

Telepathy is good and for me it is a superior power because you can read one's mind and there would be no secrets at all. But there are things that are much better that a person wouldn't know so that they wont be hurt because some truth are meant to be keep. If I were be given a chance to have a power to read one's mind, i will refuse it because it is much better if I didn't know something. For it will give me a peace of mind.

Things would be much easier with telepathy, so it would avoid awkward moments and there would be no need to lie. But, you are right, sometimes a person can know to much and telepathy would mean everyone knows everything. It can be quite dangerous, so we would probably be better off without this ability. . .
