This photo is of my 19 month old granddaughter. I think that's how old she is anyhow. Close to that age anyhow. She is walking a lot now and finally gave up crawling. But she still hates shoes. She lost one shoe here and loved it evidently. She is wearing a crown her step-sister, Emma, made for her. Isn't she a doll? Does/did your grandkids hate shoes when they were little? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Hey Grandpa Bob! It's been quite awhile since I've seen a picture of Savanna and I can't believe how big she's gotten! And I can't believe she's walking! I can still remember her last year as a tiny baby! Wow! How time flies! She really is a big girl this Christmas! It will really be fun seeing pictures of her opening her gifts this year! I can't wait to see them! Give her a hug and kiss from her "Auntie Opal"! And send my regards to the whole family!

Oh my I can't believe how big your grand-daughter's gotten Grandpa...seems only yesterday that you were posting her baby pics when she was first born...definitely see a resemblance to her "mom"--do you ever compare pics of your daughter at the same age?

I don't have to compare "pictures". They both have those rolling eyes, that puppy stare, and the same set of lungs when they want their way. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

hi grandpa bob oh I am not a grandma as my son never has married but when my little girl was about your granddaughter's age my Lisa Rose hated shoes, and I don't know how many times she threw one of them out the pickup window. we would have to back up and my hubby would get out and retrieve it. she would sing lisa don like shoe, Lisa don like shoe. okaybaby backon your foot, but sometimes I did manage to grab her arm before it flew out the window. At home she was usually with one shoe on and one shoe off. we even tried different kinds of shoes, still lisa don like shoe. okay. well we had 8 short years to love and ador her and then we lost her. now of course after so many years its not so painful but I still remember everything about her, she was a sweeie pie too although she was brain d amaged at birth, she had an unusual sweetness that seemed to make up for what she might not have been able to do.She did not even appear brain damaged but in things like potty training for example she just did not get it. she learned to talk and when she was six everyone thought she was just an average three or maybe four year old, and we were told that would be about what she would always be. she was deprived of oxygen for twenty minuites and thats all it took to wipe out a lot of her brains activities.,sad but it does happen , I should have had a cesarean but the doctor waited too long to get her delivered, she was a black baby in hospital terms, it took them twenty or thirty minutes to get her breathing. long enough that they ruined her little brain. sad but we coped and we loved her dearly too.

Savanna just tosses them aside. I don't think she's tried throwing them away yet. She had the same show put on a few times. We finally gave up till it was time to leave. I have a brother (41) that is severely mentally retarded. He is unedtucable, doesn't feed himself nor use the toilet. He's a ward of the State and in a home being cared for. I haven't seen him in many years either. He does not know whom we are wehn we visit either. This was caused, the Dr believes, from mom having had a few miscarriages. I am sure your daughter looks down from above upon you. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Hello Grandpa Bob, when my son was young he never wanted to waer shoes either, he was always taking them off and leaving them everywhere. We finally got him a little pair of blues clues shoes that he would cry for everytime we were in the store and then we had a problem with trying to get the shoes off..he would cry when we tried and would even sleep in them so we just let him wear them and with time he grew out of those shoes and now he seem to wear shoes like normal people do

Goodness....she's walking already?Seemed to me just a few months back she was born. Anyways, to answer your question...I'm not old enough to be a grandparent.....unless I had a child when I was 15 and that child had a child when they were 15..lol. But my younger son hated wearing his shoes. He is 3 now and given a chance, he would still prefer to walk around barefoot. I've never experienced this with my older son.

She is very cute. I left a comment. Does she look like you? Regarding the shoes.. I still hate shoes and I am 51. I realise I have to wear shoes outside, but I rarely do inside. My 16 year old daughter avoids shoes inside too.

most kids dont start wearing shoes til they are starting to walk which i guess is about a year and a half or so (its been so long, i just cant remember!) and i guess before that, not that many wear shoes so i imagine wearing shoes takes some getting used to eh?

Savanna is adorable! I love this picture of her Grandpa Bob. I don't have any grand kids, but my oldest son hated to wear shoes when he was a toddler. At 12 years old he still doesn't care for them, but will wear them when he has to, like when we go somewhere. But he takes them off as soon as he gets home. LOL Happy mylotting!

she's so cute, and really a doll. my year old daughter loves her shoes. sometimes she sits down and points to her shoes and makes us wear them for her. and sometimes one pair isn't enough! i have photos of her wearing a pair and holding another pair! i have to tell her, darling you only have one pair of feet! i know another friend who has a child who hated wearing shoes as well. he would curl his foot up and walk funny when in them.

Oh the kids... You cant make them wear it especially when its cold here. I have three nephews, one is 9 years old, second id 7 years old and thrid one is hardly 4 years old and all day long the family memebers keep on tellign them to please wear the shoes, but as soon as you are busy or not looking they would manage to get rid of them and start without them. My brother threaten them that he will beat them if he saw someone witout shoes but it only has momentrialy effect and then the same story goes on. Or at times they will take out my or their mothers fancy shoes and like to roam in it. When my elsder nephew started walking ( he started a bit late) he was walking so much from one room to another to another that I said to my mom if he start walking from our city but night time he would have been in another. I love the picture of your grand daughter she is lookign like a queen

My daughter is 6. She has always seemed to love shoes. She always has several pair. My son on the other hand, well a different story altogether. He hates!! socks, shoes, anything on his feet. Trying to keep those baby piggies warm has become a true battle.

I agree with you, Grandpa Bob. She is such a cutie, and so cute! Definitely cute.. kids grow up so fast, and so would their feet size. But normally, they don't like to wear footwear too; just like my nieces and nephews. They dislike footwear very much and would prefer to run on barefoot pretty much the whole time, LOL.. Your granddaughter is definitely a doll..

She is beautiful! Did you know that the longer they crawl, the better they can read later on? I'm glad she crawled for so long! I still hate shoes. If God had intended that we wear shoes, we'd be born with them.

Hi GRANDPA BOB, My friend's granddaughter just loved shoes when she was that age, I suppose all kids are different in their taste when its comes to shoes. lol! Tamara

I dont ahve any children but from my epxerience with neighbour kids ,i think it is a common thing forchildren that age and younger to hate shoes .I think it i s bit too restrictive for these young ones who just want to explore the world in a natural unpretencious state.Oh and how they grow so fst before your eyes .I went home to look for my mom and I was surprised at the huge kids I am now seeing ,when I left they wee toddlers
