Why do you have to be over 21 to enter a casino?

I really enjoy playing poker. It's one of my favorite hobbies. All throughout college, I'd play poker with my friends at some of the parties. When a new poker club opened up here a year ago, I was really disappointed. I couldn't get in because I was only 20 then.
Why is there even a limitation?

I think they have this limitation because they don't want so many younger people to be gambling. I think that some people can be irresponsible while playing in a casino, and they don't want younger people to gamble away their money. Some people under 21 may not even have a job yet, it might take a few more years until they can get a steady income. I guess they just want to protect you and stop you from losing money.

Hi merlinsorca: i think the same too about this limitation and in my opinion it's necessary to put these limitations not only because they are young and in most cases we are not able to mesure the risks of a casino at that age but to prevent that they become addicted to gambling at that age where it's easy to find passion on games. You have a point there. But I think poker is a character builder too. No one would voluntarily go to a casino to lose money. They'd want to go there to try to win a few extra cash, so they'd have to be confident in the skills they have towards it. But yeah, generally people under 21 aren't as adept with their finances as those over 21.

Hi piatos: i think the answer is simple even some persons don't like the explanation. Lol. XD. The limitation is there simply because they try to prevent ludopaty which is the passion for the casinos and games. If there's no limitation, kids would spend their money on these games and they would be irresponsible. They think that when you're 21 your enough mature to know how to spend your money and that you'll have enough criteria to know when to stop. I think that's the reason. Don't worry, casinos are not so good. Have a nice day.

Of every game the must be a rule and for every rule the must be a law breaker.
You could only wait until you are 21 that is i,For some people its just in case you have problem in there you will be able to take care of it and that it should not be your parents to bear it but you and only you
