I like the idea of joing the army, of making strategies, new technology, helping people, living life with some rules that you must follow and knowing how to defend my self. But i don't like the ideia of war, killing innocents and soldiers alike, invading other countries like some countries do... But we cant separate on of the other, so do you think its a good ideia to serve your country? do what they order you to do? maybe its not the right away to humanity to do things like that anymore, we should unity our selves to a better cause. The problem is that men want always more! want to rule others, no matter how! everybody should be free doesnt it? why soo much people trying steal from the others, soo many corrupt politics? soo many people starving, while others are getting FAT? Open your heart, tell me, is this justice?

No not really. It's not a life that I would want to live. I wouldn't want to be bossed around everyday, running on someone else's schedule. I have never really respected a lot of what wars or armies are for so that's probably my main reasoning behind my opinions but I think that any research or development into the studies of war tactics and battle is only giving us more artillery to destroy each other.

A very true posibility my friend though unfortunate and sad some of us do have to dye I suppose for there to be room for the new ones coming in to live. Who knows maybe one day we'll be able to figure out how this vicious cycle works but for now I'm just as confused as everyone else.

I want you to read about what Hitler did to all those people he killed in Germany!
I want you to read about all those people that Saddam Hussein tortured and killed in his own country!
Me, you won't even have to ask me twice to jump in there and fight against and destroy 'killers' like that, I will be the first in line!
I won't stand by, and watch people like that get murdered! I will give my life to try and save helpless people!

You are right about our leaders, sometimes we have leaders with bad intentions that are in power!

I respect your opinion, but i wouldn't do the same, everybody has their own participation and its own intention, and sometimes our leaders have other intentions, and they disguise those intentions making people go to war and die for ther intentions. But i can't discuss that we should at least try to save helpless people.

yes yes yes....Whats more good than joining the army and serving the country. The typical jobs people do don't give any satisfaction. But joining the army is a matter of pride, not only for you but also for your whole generation. I wish i could join the Indian Army...

I can't see myself as an army person. Enlisting in the Army was never a choice of mine. My son is eighteen and he is considering it. It would be good for education. I have a nephew who enlisted in the military and he is very happy there.

Its strange to think that too much technology that we use now-a-days were developed by the army. The pain killer was developed by nazists! And we use today withouth knowing that.
I agree with you that we shouldn't fight each other, and shouldn't use the technology to make weapons, and those things.

War is just a nessesary evil sometimes. No one relly likes war, especialy a soldier. I take exception to the killing innocents thing though. I know a very large number of folks in the military. Our military goes out of it's way to avoid innocent lives lost, sometimes even at the expens of our own soldiers, usualy when fighting those who DON'T care about colatteral damage and civilian casualties, such as some of those we are fighting now in afghanistan. These are people who think nothing of taking a few hundred civilians down with them when they blow themselves up, think nothing of sending children with bombs strapped to them, even mentaly disabled persons are not off limits to these people.
I almost joined the airforce when I was in my last year in highschool. I was in "rock star" mose by this time though so I instead went off to persue a carreer in music and soon after settled down and got married, had a family. In retrospect I almost wish I had joined the airforce. I could have persued music in the air forced, entertained troops and schools with the airforce bands that tour pretty regularly. but then I never would have had my amazing daughters, so in the end I guess I did make the right decision.

Nessesary evil? maybe...
If i had to choose betwen air force, army or navy, i would join the air force too. Im no musician, but i play guitar too! But I don't know if i would want to have kids thou, I don't like the ideia, maybe when I get older. A military life isnt easy, my brother is a sargeant in the air force, he makes a lot of money, doesn't work a lot but he is always traveling. He wants to start a family with his girlfriend but they need to get more money.
Don't you think that EUA just want afghanistan because of their oil? I mean, there were people telling that where nuclear bombs there, but none was found, so why invade that country?

I tried to apply to be a soldier but sad I failed it is very hard to enter there you need to pass to all their requirements. I failed in their medical and it is my biggest disappointment because my father is a soldier that why he also want me to be a soldier to. I want to serve my country and at the same time I want their benefits package. I hate wars and corruption in the military too.

Hi Tatutino,
Since i was a in my secondary school, i've been exposed to military activities and events. i was once a Youth Development Training Company Officer with a second lieutenant rank 2LT, Citizen's Army Training Staff Officer with a Captain rank. after graduation, i asked my parents if i can go to military like the PMA-Philippine Military Academy but my mom did not permit me then. If given the chance even up to now i would love to.

Hi! I never wanted to go in the army. I think it's just a waste of time, because you don't do anything- you just fight for other countries( in case you are a soldiers, like the "rangers") and you just waste your time. I think it's better to find a good job and become independent.

Hi. I have never had the idea of joining the army. I would oppose should one of my brother, sisters, nephews, and nieces would ever decide to join the army. I just couldn't stand the idea of having a family member being sent on a war. I could not imagine they are already able to kill someone who may be innocent or just there for the call of duty like them. Worst, I could not imagine the fact the they could be killed performing their duties anywhere. I may be selfish but that's my view about joining the army.

My Dad is an Ex Army man... and he never wanted me or my brother to join Army... Because he didn't wanted to go through what he has done being in the Army for 20 years...
i remember my brother without informing my father have filled the form to join Army and when the call letter came for written exam, my dad didn't allow him to go...
When i was doing engineering, i filled a form online and one sudden day i got a brochure from NDA (National Defense Academy)... the brochure thrilled me because of the lifestyle that it has shown in it... i went to my dad and asked whether i can go for the Short Service Commission... but i couldn't make it because i was not physically fit to join Army... according to my height and age i was not of certain weight...
after that i never thought of joining the army again... but whenever i see something like the 26/11, the thought crosses my mind whether i should have tried again...
