I was just watching the news and they said that Toys for Tots turned down a donation of 400 dolls because they were Jesus dolls. They recited scripture. What does everyone think of this? Their reason for turning them down was because they didn't want to give a Jesus dolls to someone who's Muslim, etc. Toys for Tots gives away toys to kids for Christmas. Muslims don't celebrate Christmas...

Toys for Tots should have taken the donation. People, "non-believers" or not, should be greatful for the gift, no matter what kind of toy they are receiving.

Maybe the Muslims don't celebrate Christmas, but there are many who celebrate it not as a religious holiday who might be offended by their child being given the jesus dolls. But would it had been possible for Toys for Tots to find churches who would have liked to use these dolls in their baskets they give out at Christmas.

But churchs donate also to families that are not associated with the church also. What if those families would be offended by a Jesus doll?

Toys for Tots doesn't know who the recipient of any given toy will be so they declined the offer as not to offend someone with different religious belief..which I understand.. However there are plenty of Christians organizations who they should consider giving the same kind of donation to...they are more control of who recieves what.

Well, I can understand that, I guess they try to do what is best for the kids, they do alot of great things for children each year.
