Do you usually come early, on time or late to an appointment? For me I'd rather come earlier for the following reason: I don't want to rush because it is more stressful; I want to give ample time for unseen circumstances like traffic, accidents or commuting hazards thereby still arriving at the appointed date on time if not earlier; I feel it is disrespectful to your date to come late, in that way giving him/her less importance for you. And i assume that if one continuosly come late for an appointment/date then he will be having less and less appointments or dates in the future.

I tend to try to be on time. Say the appointment is at 6:00, I try to be there by 5:50. That way I'm not too early, but I'm not late either. I feel that if you're late, it gives off a bad impression. But if you're too early [say for a date] you look too anxious. I try to time it for the right time.

I usually will come early if I can get the chance to. I try to be on time as much as possible. And showing up for every appointment is what counts the most. Some receptionists sees that when they know that you do your best to show up, even if you was late.

in most cases i do try as much as possible to get myself familiar with the venue of any appointment especially if i don't know the place, i try as much as possible to keep with the time and dates of appointments and that depends on the importance and the prospect of such appointments

Well, I usually come on time or even 30 minute advance. just like you, it saves me from worrying and stress. I would rather be known as someone who comes on time than the person who always make other wait. it gives me ample time to prepare if incase its for meeting or business deals. plus just to make sure I wouldnt be caught to traffic atleast not that long.Ofcourse, I have been late before, but rest assured that there is a very good and real reason. and your right, it show how unimportant the person or deal it is for you, that's why you came late, whether it's for date or business deal

I do go early, but sometimes I have to wait more after the appointment time passed and I just hate that.

I would agree that it is better to be a little early. If I thought I would be late, I would be very stressed.

Coming late is a normal behavior in my country. I don't know why that is, but everybody comes late (even 30 minutes to an hour late) and thinks it's alright. I studied in Europe and have been disciplined to come on time. So I never come earlier, but I come on time ( I do this for myself) and I bring a magazine with me in my bag. That way, if the person comes late, I don't have to wait too long, and I have something to amuse myself and not get angry.

I hate to be late for anything, I think it is one of the rudest things to do to someone. It's like telling the person left waiting on me that their time isn't as valuable as mine is. I run on Vince Lombardi time..10 minutes early and if I am right on time, I am late. In the event something unforeseen happened I would call ahead to let my appointment know I would be late. I have a friend that is chronically late, in order for her to be on time you have to tell her you want to meet or leave and hour or so earlier than you really need to. It drives me crazy.

I agree with you. Definitely, you are right. As for me, I am sruggling with this issue. Sometimes I come early, sometimes late esp. when I have to do a lot of chores at home. I really wish I can be early in all my appointments.
