So my bank is so generous because they are offering me money to open up savings account, too bad I already have one. I have a bit saved up, not a whole lot, but enough to pay my bills if something were to happen. My questions is, do you have a savings/checking account? Would you like to open a savings/checking account? Why or why not? Some people with bad checks (bounced checks) aren't allowed to get any bank account, too bad right? I always use my account responsibly, and I haven't had a bounced check fee in a few years (which is good). I'm pretty good at money management. What about you? Do you manage your money well? Cheers and happy mylotting!

I think I do pretty well at managing my money. I actually have two checking accounts that I balance. The second one was opened number one for additional expense tracking and because my bank offered $50 for opening an extra one. It's a free checking account so all I have to pay for are the checks if I need them.

I used to have two checking, but no more. Would you be interested in opening up a savings account? . The bank offered to give money, I believe it was $25 if you deposit $300. I thought that was nice, but I already have a savings account with them. I have free checking, too. It's nice when the banks don't charge much for an account, right?

Cool. We only pay for our checks if we run out. They aren't that much. I don't use the debit card that much. I probably use checks more often than not. Cheers and happy myLotting!

Thanks for the best response! My checking accounts are free too. I just have to pay for checks if I need them. I actually use a debit card to avoid that fee as much as possible though.

I have more than one checking account and more than one savings.. If they are offering you money to open up another- I would do it. Otherwise you are throwing away money.. lol Just take some money out of your current savings and use it as an opening deposit.

Are you interested? Hehe, they are given $25 if you deposit $300 into the savings account. I have one savings account and one checking account. You make sense though because if they give extra money then it's a good thing.

Hi there callarse. I see you attached an ING bank picture - they actually offered the same deal in my country - you would get about 10 euros for a new account at their bank. I do have a savings account - i actually have a few types of saving accounts - a normal student account from ING, an economy account from ING, a deposit at ING and another savings account at Raiffeisen Bank. Now as i put work on hold, and went back in my 2nd year of my master year, it is getting a bit difficult to save as the income has drastically reduced, but i will manage somehow - the online activities will help a bit - i guess it's better then nothing.

Yes I know. However there is no point of having two savings accounts. Moreover, my bank (the one that wanted me to open a savings account) wanted to give a generous 0.07% interest. That's not even one percent interest! No thanks! The bank I have savings account with already gives me way better interest.

Oh I see. Well, that's why I want to keep my savings account. If somehow I lose my job, or we have lots of bills I can use the savings account in an emergency.
