When do winters come to your area?

China

I am from Guangzhou, a southern city in China and it doesn't get very cold even in winter. Chinese people consider winter solstice the middle of the winter. but Chinese people call winter solstice 'the arrival of winter' and consider it the a big festival. So I get a little confuse about when winters begin. and I feel that the coldest days always come from late January till early march. When do people consider it winter time in your area?

hi chameleon7! i live in manila and we do not have winter here. we only have two season, dry and wet. sucks big time!!! we either have to put up with the hottest of the hottest weather as if hell was placed here on earth or we put up with torrential typhoons and constant flooding. with the climate change, things have gone from bad to worse. i kid you not! just look up in the internet, typhoons 'ondoy' and 'pepeng'. those were the last two major typhoons that hit the country. there were others after these two hit but these pale in comparison. if i wanted snow, i would go to one of the carnivals or amusement parks and experience manufactured snow. lol! cheers!!!

The winter in my country has just about started. Well we are neighbors and yet know so little about each other. The winter in our area stays from December to February with January usually being the coldest month. I love the winter here. It is so pleasant and refreshing.
