I always thought I was lazy, but then I know when I was at college, and just after, working in theatre, I worked harder than I ever have, because I was doing something I truly believed in and felt passionate about.
Now I am unemployed, and married and at home at the moment. I have had a series, since getting married and moving, of stupid jobs which I have no interest in and I have no motivation to do anything. People keep asking how the job hunting is going and I can't tell them that I really don't WANT a job because the thought of going back to retail, or making other peoples coffee, or whatever, makes me want to kill myself.
So I don't think it is laziness, more depression and disillusionment.
Maybe like me you just need to find something worth getting up for!

The trick is to find something that you're interested in. Even if it's not the most productive thing at least you will stop being lazy. Then, you can get on with your real work with a renewed sense of vigor.

be careful about the word lazy. there are some people who R truly lazy. to me, those are people who just want to live off everyone else. they want everyone else to pull the weight for them. this doesn't sound like you. don't be so hard on yourself. if you are having to do things that you don't like to do, and don't want to do it...it's not lazy. lazy doesn't mean not wanting to spend your time and energy the way people think you should. like me for instance, i work more than 12 hours a day, but i do it for myself. i don't want to work for someone else. these are my talents, my time, my energy. i am no one's slave. so if it makes me lazy not to want to spend my time making someone else rich, than guilty as charged. but, i DO work very hard during the day...even more so because i work for myself.

no i am not a lazy person i work 7days a week with my own business as well i just wanted to see if anyone defeated it,the cure for laziness is to leave no room for idliness in your mind, even when u know u r comfortable, never tell your self that u r ,cause thats when that plague comes around,so to keep busy in your mind even when your sitting down, there is no room for laziness

I am a victim of this sickness as well. There were moments that I could not get up and just stay on bed. If this has been happening for a long period of time, for sure, that it is not going to do good to anyone including you and me. The only person who could really change is the person himself. I tried to tweak my way of thinking that if I do this, nothing good will happen to me. It is really a matter of self discipline.

lol,I am very lazy too, since I started going to school. I like sleeping late,I like lying on the bed and think sth.I always procrastinates things to do.This my habit before I started working. But when I left my family, exited from university and entered society,I suffur from my habit,I failed doing my own job,I lost my promoted oppotunites,I lost myself. Now I realize you have to be active, positive and hard,do your best to survive in such a competitive cruel society,or you'll be out. This is my experience.

I was just hoping that somebody would suggest a good remedy to lazy bummers like us LOL
Laziness captures me now and then on almost a weekly basis and on days when I don’t really feel like doing anything at all. Only this weekend I skipped doing some very important and pending household work just because I did not want to do anything at all!
I think laziness has no cure but then we all need to take a break, don’t we?

I think, everyone has the remedy for this disease 'Laziness'! But the fact is that a small number of people only use this remedy and get rid of laziness. Others neither use this remedy nor like to use this remedy, though they always have it at their hands from the begining of everyday!! An ordinary active person only utilizes the remedy always to remain more active!! Another fact is punctuality is the key to the remidy for laziness!!
Thanks for this smart topic and have a nice and active day!

It is also one of my hated stuffs about myself. Often people who are called lazy aren't. Often so-called "lazy" people only feel overwhelmed when presented a task that seems more fit for a big team than just one person. Sometimes, however, it is chronic laziness that kicks in and stops us from doing the things that need to be done.

The only antidote for this is to get up and move around. Exercise some. Move your muscles. Get motivated and encourage yourself. Tell yourself that you are getting tired of just sitting around and not doing anything at all. Make a schedule of what things that you can do that will keep you energetic. You should try to drink some Ocean Spray Energy drink. It is called CranEnergy. It will work good with keeping you up from being so drowsy. It is all in the mind. Laziness is only what we make it to be. You can overcome this.

I think the most important thing you can do is have a goal. Something that you really want, something you can work towards so that the things you don't want to do can be made more bearable if you think of that something you really want and just do it and not look back. It's also important to have breaks so you work more effectively.

the only rememdy is motivation. motivate yourself for the work that you have to do. if you are not motivated, you will automatically feel lazy for getting up and doing that work. i experience laziness all the time. i just need to remind myself of the importance of the work, or i need someone to force me, push me, challenge me, then i would sit up and not be lazy... just recently i told my friend to keep pushing me, so i would be on time (thats a problem i face everyday)...

I have a remedy, it's called motivation. Set some goals, longterm and short. Once you have something to work towards you'll feel much better and like you're life has some meaning. I used to be really lazy, and it depressed the heck out of me. After awhile I got sick of it and decided to make some use of my time. So everyday I would set fourth a set of things I wanted to accomplish in the day. After you accomplish that you can can build up and start planning bigger, harder goals, to be accomplished within a week, month, year etc. Good luck! :)

I don't know if anybody have any remedy for laziness. If somebody clamis that he/she has found a cure to this disease then any other person cannot use it. Because it is very person specific. You can cure it by yourself only by using your will power to get rid of it. Ohh...I am fighting with it since...i don't know:)

I think everyone copes with this sometime in their life. I have days where I am lazy and don't feel like doing things when I know they should get done. But when I get home from work I just wanna relax and do nothig. But I know theres dishes to be done, laundry and homework...Then wekends are always busy. I try 2 get my chores done early so then I can be lazy and do whatever I want to the rest of the night! So I don't think anyone can say their not lazy cuz we all are sometimes.

laziness is a mindset,
its our human nature that makes us lazy, the only way to combat it is to be driven on what you want to achiveve.
Whenever I feel lazy I always remember a saying that was drilled into me at an early age.
'You are where you are now because of what you did yesterday, you will be where you are tomorrow because of what you done today'

hi kashers,
There are three remedies I think for laziness disease these are:
1. "KEEP YOUR MIND BUSY""
when a person mind is busy with many things? he entertain many thoughts and activities possibly would like to do to entertain himself. Examples are sporty games, outdoor activities, peer activities, family activities or interest activities,or any of your choice interests,
and when a person had accepted the thought then the next plan is to DO THE ACTIVITY.
then you will get out from laziness because your time is to hectic too or consumed with body activities, aside the fact it helps as exercise in your body.
2. " HAVE an INSPIRATION'
you see, when a person is Inspired? he can do many things to be more creative and challenge himself with many opportunities that waits for .. the person tend to more productive on thinking ways pleasing to other and especially to the person he love..
3. " GET OF FROM THE OBJECT OR ACTIVITIES THAT WILL TEMPT YOU TO BE LAZY"
some people when they see comfortable bed, couch or any objects they feel sleepy or lazy at all, so they will rest until they wake up then no job was done at all or routines..
others, tend to be lazy by diverting their problems to sleep or lazy activities to release their mind from thinking.
hence, this disease is a minus factor for any person...
So, If any plans and determined for a change? then the laziness disease will be cured .

Hahaha! I think that EVERYONE battles laziness at some point, Kashers. There's nothing wrong with you. In fact, I think it's okay to be lazy sometimes. Not all the time, mind you, but sometimes. Occational laziness, for example after you spent the previous week moving into a new house, is called "relaxing". Everyone needs to take time to relax every once in a while. So indulge yourself sometimes. Don't always just go go go. If you've been working hard and there's nothing that needs to get done within a deadline, then just sit back and enjoy doing nothing.
