Being a man, I have to say that it is not that we are lazy. It is just that we do not pay as much attention to details as compared to a woman. I know some guys and woman who washed their weekly laundry together. When asked about their reasons, they would say that it save water and also money to wash all at once. I don't really mind, as long as they don't wear the same shirt the whole week.

It depends i think. maybe at the aspect of doing housework, woman is more industrious than man, however, it's just cuz many men think these things are not important, they have more significant things to do, so, if a man do not like doing housework it dosen't mean he is a lazy guy, and this view for woman, too. Only a people do not want to do anythig, then he or she is a lazy man.

It mostly depends on the environment we men are lived into since our childhood. In our childhood, our parents don't teach us to wash clothes and all. So, it is being feeded in our mind that guys are not meant for cleannig or something else but if you go to any laundry shop, you will see that most of the workers are men or even you will find men in hotels as a shelf, isn't it?
So, it is not true that men are quite lazy.

hello chriszh
Actually I also know a female classmate who is very lazy in our view, she always washes a week's clothes on Sunday.Haha...so there are many examples about lazy women.I just wonder why you start this topic, you think woman is more deligent than men in your subconscious?while for me ,I think we are fair, nowadays more and more men begin to do the housework,it bacomes more normal.
have a good day

I don't understand...why is doing a weeks washing on Sunday lazy? Most people who work only do laundry on Saturday or Sunday. That's not lazy. Lazy is wearing the same clothes every day not clean ones. Lazy is not bathing and being stinky.

I don't think so, It's case to case basis. Like for example in my country before we have plenty of housewives, now it's theother way around. Since most of the jobs available today is for women, in our society we have plenty of househusband today. But this househusband , they are not lazy husbands. They took care of the children, do the household chores and do the budgetting in the house. It doesn't look weird because before they are the one who is working. In our country, yes they are househusband in faireness to the husbands or guys who stayed at home, sometimes they have business. It's just a matter of being creative to the signs of the times. The Global Crisis is worldwide, but our people survived, we survived. Thank You....

yea reading those posts about men doing house choirs is kind of ridiculous. yea i guess it should be split up to be equal but there are a lot of men who work a lot of hours each day and take care of the family while the wife takes care of the house and other stuff like that. I am not saying it can't be the opposite way either as it is like that in my family as well where the wife works just as much as the husband or more. But calling a man lazy if he doesn't do house choirs is ridiculous unless of course if he doesn't have a job. It can go both ways.

There are many men who are careless about their hygiene and there are men who are meticulous about it. Women are generally expected to groom themselves and keep themselves up but it seems most societies have a different set of rules for men.

I think there are both men and women who are lazy and do not clean themselves or do housework. Lots of men do the chores like yard work and working on the car with lots of women do not do. There are times when most people just like to sit around and do nothing and watch TV.

Yes men are generally more lazy when it comes to Hygiene. From my experiences with the male gender they tend to bath 3/4 less then there mate. I have know a few exceptions to. I know one man friend of my hubby's who baths 6-10 times day and man does he love his cologne. If he comes for a visit to our house he has to go straight to bathroom and shower so I do not have an asthma attack from his cologne. He is so clean it is not even funny. In Kentucky women bath there men at least they did back when I first was down in KY in the late 80's. Wash bathing there men was just like second nature to them. They also had other customs like dressing and packing food to them and basically waiting on them hand and foot. Some still do. I like some of those customs but some are very out dated. Matter of a fact since I been back in Kentucky I have met a man that is 21 now and his wife is older and she has to wait on him hand and foot to a point that is just wrong. For example if there is a cup of coffee sitting right next to him he will holler at her to get it for him and of course she does. That I think is just to darn lazy and in fact he does it for everything no matter what she is doing or where she is. SO hope this helps show that in general men are lazier then women. Sorry men that are not lazy but you are the few that need to rub off on all other men then.

You're right!
In my school, girls and boys share one dormitory building. A smell of effluvium and musty always release from their dorms, because the pile of clothes in the corner has gone moldy. They are so lazy! They never clean their supplies unless they feel they are disgusting. How can they stand themselves!
Also, my male desk mate wears his suit for 3 weeks. He admitted that he wash himself once a month! You can see his hair is disorder than hencoop. I have to sit with him. Besides me, anyone in class never approaches him. To be his desk mate is my nightmare!

My brother is lazy, me I am lazy sometimes. I don't think man is much lazier than woman. There were neat men and always prepare for battle. It really depends on the people , they were days that i get lazy and another day I am so productive. It depends on my mood if I want to be productive too, I guess it is the same as to those people who are lazy. I know a person who have been lazy eversince he graduated in college. He told me he don't know what he really wants in his life that is why until now he depends on his parents. I feel sad for his parents because he was graduated 2001 and now that it is year 2009 he haven't look for a job.

Women call men lazy sometimes because of the typical dynamics of division of labour around the home. A lot of males were brought up with the idea that it women’s work to care for the house while they go out to work. Although the man may be a very hard worker at his job he may behave like a lazy person when it comes to household chores. Having said that it is important to remember that everyone is different and situations are different, for example there a lot of women out there who are very lazy and terribly bad housekeepers etc.

I don't really understand why you are assuming this man is lazy. I wash for three people and so generally do wash 3 to 4 times a week. I wait until I have a load of laundry before I wash. If there are only a few dirty clothes, I wait. I live in the desert and water is not a commodity to waste.
I remember my folks only did laundry once a week after all the kids moved away. Wednesday was wash day. They were neither dirty nor lazy. Is this man dirty, or does he wear the same clothes over and over without washing? If not, perhaps you are jumping to unfair conclusions.
