Is it right to say that excessive reading is a sign of a bad health? Or it will just cause you sickness?

hi peavey I think a lot of people would love to hear reading will make them sick as they are lazy and do not want to be bothered to read something. I love to read and to learn and I am 83. I want to live my life, and books are part of it. no books are not unhealthy at all.

denverlc oh my g. no for heavens sakes most people do as little reading as they can get away with. Reading is good for you, learning is good for you. who on earth thinks excessive reading is a sign of ill health? thats the silliest thing I have ever heard of. as long as you have good sight, or excellent glasses there is nothing wrong with reading and what is one persons idea of excessive reading is probably not most people's . a lot of people would be much more successful in their work if they had just studied and read more. I love to read and its one of my favorite past times so no its not unhealthy.it is good for your brain, and your job.

Hi Denver,
Excessive reading will stressed your eyes and even strain it. If you extend reading at night and sleep so late just to finish what you are reading it can also dry your eyes and you will not have enough time of sleep. So better schedule your reading time for it to be healthy!

Hi. Depends on the way you read, I guess. If you read excessively small prints on a dim light, I believe that could damage your eyesight. Also, excessive reading could be bad in a sense that we could become too ideal about life. That we might live and believe in all the theories and concepts written in the book. We should not forget that we read only for guidance, information, learning, and entertainment - AND definitely not to live in denial or idealism. Practical application of what we read is still very different from reading the concepts.
