Infant Behavior and ADHD

my son will be 5 mths dec 11th, when i was pregnant i noticed he was really active. he hit me in the ribs and all over he was tossing and turning consistently. Now he is alway jumping around cant stay n one place and snatches any thing he can reach. his father had adhd as a child as well . is my child the only one who acts this way?? plez reply

I am with hatley on this one..my oldest son had ADD and it sure was not present at 5 months. Your son should be moving all over..either crawling or getting ready to crawl. The fact he is grabbing things he can reach means he is interested in what is around him not that he is hyperactive.. Too many active little boys get labeled ADD or ADHD before they should be. 5 months is way to young to even think about going there.

hi k_johnson How can a five month old baby possibly have adhd, I thought most five months old babies wiggled around as they are growing and getting more active as each month passes. I bet anything a pediatrician would say your baby is normal for a five month old baby. as him if it worries you so much.
