Watching the conclusion of Alice on SyFy Tonight & the Cable TV Went Out!!!

As some of you here on myLot must have done, I had planned on watching the miniseries on the SyFy Channel entitled "Alice". This is a modern day version of "Alice in Wonderland". Anyhow, I watched part 1 last night and it was really good. I was looking forward to watching part 2 tonight and 58 minutes into the program "POOF!" the cable went out! I immediately called my cable company and they informed me that I was in the affected area of my city and that they were aware of the problem and a technician was going to be sent out. Well, here we are 50 minutes later and I still have no television. It will be over in 10 mintues. Now I have to figure out when this will be showing again. It really gets me. Also, I asked if I would be getting a service credit and he said I would have to call back the next day and that they only give service credit if the cable is off for 3 or more hours.
This really bites. I remember when I had Dish Network my reception was always great. Here with Cable the service is so-so. Thank God I have internet with another company or I would be going crazy with no entertainment whatsoever!

Oh, that is frustrating, I am sure. I do not have either cable or Dish, or Direct TV. I have often wondered how people who had used more than one or the other felt about the service and reception they have now. I do hope you get to see a rebroadcast.

That was a wonderful two part series! I particularly liked the ending, it was perfect! I thought they'd make it really lame like she thought she dreamt it but finds a little doodad from Wonderland but the writers did a great job. I also liked that they made the looking glass have a purpose. Charlie was a hoot, I remember him (Matt Frewer) in Max Headroom years and years ago. I hope you finally got to see the ending!

Ooh! Dont you just hate it when that happens?
I actually time and schedule those shows that Im really interested to know. Most especially if its a movie that's chopped into 2 or 3 parts. I look for other show times that it might be aired, take note of the dates before I even begin to watch the first part of the movie. Though it has happened that I was really into a movie, very engaged in the storyline that I dont even move an inch from my seat. All of a sudden, the tv went black. Electricity was out for some unknown reason. It was also at the very climax of the story, and I had to exercise extreme restraint from throwing the remote to the tv.
I even double checked if it was just our neighborhood or it was city wide, because if I so much as see a twinkling light post from the next neighborhood, I would really freak! Good thing it was total darkness when I looked out. That made me calm down a bit.LOL
When there isnt any announcement as to what time the power will be back, Id try to wait it out an hour or two, if it still hasnt come back then I just sleep on it, or read a book/magazine by candlelight.^_^

Hi schultzie. I don't know if anyone has said this yet but thought I'd tell ya anyway. It's coming on again tonight.
I was watching it, also, and was interrupted last night by a phone call from my closest real-life friend who LOVES to chat. I missed maybe half of Part 2. I'll be watching it tonight.
It's actually pretty good. I was expecting a horrible remake, as most remakes are, at least in my opinion. But this was pretty good, probably because it wasn't supposed to be like the original.
I hope you can catch it tonight and you don't lose cable! We have cable and this bad weather system is just now reaching us. We're supposed to have rain and freezing rain. They're saying up to 2 1/2 inches of rain! I hope it doesn't bring down any electric lines. Most of ours are underground, as are the cable lines but, well, I want to see this entire thing, too! Good luck to both of us! LOL

Doesn't the cable always seem to go out just when you're getting to the good part? Of something you actually WANT to watch? I wish our sattelite would lose reception when I'm BORED and flipping through CHANNELS rather than intensely watching something, like a movie I've wanted to see or a season finale (which usually happens). We have Comcast, which is pretty reliable and rarely goes out. My mom, though, has Dish and she's had a few problems. I know Direct TV (from past experience of having it) would go down VERY OFTEN, even when the weather wasn't bad or anything like that! It was so frustrating! But anyway, maybe you can look on the channel's website for times that it will re-air.

I know it's on later again, I believe literally right after the first airing ended of the 2nd part so don't worry. Just make sure to be tuned into Syfy and you'll catch it if your TV is finally back on. At least catch the ending you missed!
