My residential area comes bit near to the airports hence quite a few of the airplanes fly very close to the top of our residential area, even in the wee hour of the night....seldom I get a good sleep, some times I wonder how bad for the people who are much more closer to the air port within the 10km zone.......
What are the repercussion to hour health and other looming problem of sound pollution and of course one more thing that none of us would like to happen ever both the travelers and we the residential people near the airport zone.
What precaution we must take to protect ourselves from such a daily affair.?

Yeh !!! the noise pollution is always there but at the same time we all gets used to it and hence you are right that it does not make any difference to our sleep pattern(except the neighbors).Actually when one is not sleeping that deeply the noise gets into the ear for that moment only and latter on after waking up in the morning we rarely do remember the noise.
Unfortunately if any how one's residential property gets damaged due to the these airplanes......in that case one must have insurance policy against the property to some insurance company of their particular country. That's the way out
Let us have a good sleep and not to be get disturbed by the airplane, newspaper & neighbors.

Yes, low flying planes disturb us many times. But its heaven for any aircraft enthusiast or photographer. Some people who have never flied enjoy the jet squeals. I live in India here near Chennai International Airport VOMM. My home is located just 5 miles from the airport and we even get to hear planes taxi sometimes, if the wind is in our direction. Its worse to hear that theres a school near the end of the runway actually. Thank goodness, the 747s and 777s rarely come here! I think they are elongating the runway after which emirates and air france are planning to start services with 747 and 777. Hope I will shift to somewhere else before these big jets arrive here!

Its a treat to our eyes when these airplanes fly over our head, we all for a moment take a look at the airplane;and the children starts a small run along the plane,by pointing towards it.
On the other hand the economic activities gets boosted, the businessmen the travelers comes and goes back hence its all about the hassling bustling that takes place in and around all over the globe by very few heads(including the criminals)when compared with the whole population of the world. Therefore again the cost is incurred by the whole population of the world by means of:sound pollution, green house gas,and so on....
More surprisingly the Government of each nation comes to power by our votes by promising all the goodies for us but becomes the party to these few,Thus a 3-tire system becomes the norms of the globe.
So I wish a very happy new year to all of us the mylotters and be healthy.....

Planes need to descend low in order to land. When they take off it takes a while before they go very high up into the clouds. It is a shame some airports are situated near residential areas. It is fine to have flights in the daytime but not in the night time when residents are trying to sleep. I live on the edge of a coastal town overlooking countryside. I live about twenty miles from Bristol Airport. I hear planes go over and it doesn't bother me. They are quite high up. I think that your residents should try to get flights between eleven in the evening and six in the morning put into the daytime. I am a keen traveler and I remember some arrival times at 2 in the morning. I am going to Canada in 2010 and I know my homeward flight arrives at 5.20 in the morning. Good luck if you discuss this matter with your local newspaper to try to get flights in the day time.

I never intended to stop people from traveling by airplane to their liked destination,In fact it is not in my hand too; otherwise we would like to encourage every one to go by flight......I hope like me every body else at mylot is probably like see others, to travail more, that too again by flight.
hence its great to know that you will be at Canada on 2010,at the same time as you have mentioned that you live near the coastal area, which is another good thing you enjoy.
So happy traveling and living in the lap of Mother-Nature.
