How can you say that you're a music lover? You can't even play music!

Well dude, are you one of them? Indeed, how can you call yourself a music lover when you can't even play a single musical instrument? And, whenever you tried to sing a 'MI', the lower note 'DO' comes out of your voice? Know what I mean? But I guess, music is not actually defined by playing intruments or singing; as long as you know how to appreciate harmony in sound, i.e. music, you can definitely say that you're one of the group.

That's like saying if you can't paint like Da Vinci you can't appreciate art! In some ways I think I love music MORE because I can't play. There is an air of mystyery as to how people can create the sounds that fill my head. Especially singing.

I too was frowning when i read your comment. How dare you say because we dont play an instument that we should not like music. I have loved any type if music since i can remember. I have done ballroom dancing since i was a small child and now do northern soul dancing and believe me to do this you need to appreciate music which i have all my entire life. I dont need people like you saying because i dont play an instrument i should not enjoy music. You are very ignorant in you comment

Gotta join the rest in frowning at the first few lines of your post! I love music and I do play a little, but not what you'd call an accomplished musician. It wouldn't matter; I would enjoy music whether I played it or not (maybe even more so).

Hi,Roger. The title of your discussions catches my attention and almost reacted but when i read the entire text i become fine. Well, yes you are right. It doesn't need to be an expert, have a great voice or a person who knows how to play instrument to be labeled as "music lover". If a person do appreciate the beauty of music either it is a music from instruments played, your own tone, or whatever it is as long as it is good to our ears and we understand the meaning behind those tones.

haha, well to begin with, I do play an instrument, but I'm tone deaf when singing, unfortunately. As for your question, I believe you answered "as long as you know how to appreaciate harmony in sound,i.e music, you can definitely say that you're one of the group" Music is being able to appreciate a sound, after all just about anything can form music. People on the streets play drums with a bucket, other's use their mouths to do beat boxing sounds, etc. As long as you are able to hear and appreciate a harmony of sounds (to each person's perspective) you can be considered a music lover from my opinion.
