what is the essence of love?

hey my friends. these days i am confused about one question,what is the essence o f love.my girlfriend and i love each other every much.but we are in different citise.it will takes 30hours for me to go to the city where she lives by train.we only meet each other in summer and winter holiday.but fortunately for me i will guaduate from college in 2011.then we can live together.to be honest ,sometimes i feel downcast when i want to see her.nontheless,generally speaking,we believe wo can have a brilliant future.in my opinion,love is great and fantastic,isnt it?but i am confused about what the essence of love.when two people love each other,what is the most precious thing of love?

Loving someone deeply and truely and having them love you back just as much... that is the "essence" of love! That is what really matters! If you want to be together, hold on and don't trow away the chance to be happy together! I'm in the same situation with my boyfriend right now... only we're A LOT further away! I know it's hard and somewhat confusing at times... but belive in each other and in your love! :) I wish you all the best!!

thx Andy79.maybe we can understand each other well.yeah we should have faith in our love.we should sacrifice for each other,then we can get love from each other.and i think while scrificing,just dont care how much you can get.right?

The essence of love are trust, care and sacrificing. Love gives people happiness and makes people kinder to each other. The true essence of love is love for yourself, love focused within. Loving yourself deeply, quietly and peacefully, love for yourself becomes love for the world and everyone else in it.

hi ck3259.you must be a person who loves your girlfriend deeply.just as you responsed,we should love ourselves firstly then we can do our best to love others.and i think if you want ti be trust for each other the first step is you should be honest tollaly honest.do you think so?

hola xiaozuo.. love can do everything.. ready to make sacrifices for you loved ones just too see her/him.. just to spent the day with him/her.. when it comes to love there are no bounderies or limitations.. precious thing? for me lovers should cherish thier time for each other no matter what happen..

yeah from my point of view,love can do everything,even can change one person.for example,i konw how to care and tolerant sb until i met my girflriend.i do cherish the time we are together,for we only meet each other just in summer and winter holiday.
