Hi deepa!
We buy our grocieries every month, rather at the end of the month. We need to buy groceries once in every month, because it is difficult to store larger quantities and there is always danger of pulses etc. getting spoiled due to moisture or otherwise.

I live on the edge of a coastal town. I buy groceries from five different supermarkets. I like to go shopping at the relatively new Waitrose twice a week. I go to Morissions once every two weeks. I go to Sainsburies once every two weeks. I go to Asda once every two weeks. I go to the co-op once a month. I can go shopping up to 12 times each month. I am vegan and I like to buy fresh fruit plus vegetables. I am a very fussy eater.

Hi deepa,
Since the grocery store is near to our home, there is no question of any difficulty for shopping. So I prefer to get the items according to the necessity. I don’t have the habit of ordering in bulk since our family is small, if I purchase the same in bulk it may got damage later. Rice, I am buying it for 15 days and when finish the same I buy it again. So my grocery shopping may be countless in a month.

Once a month. But it is not always like that. Maybe we are in need of more groceries for a party, then we will go to groceries store. But usually once a month to buy some snack, bathing kit, housing kit, cleaner, etc. We don't buy rice and other food stuff on groceries store, but we buy it in traditional market instead. So whenever we in need of such ingredients or stuff, we go to traditional market.

For my in-laws household they go to the grocery every sunday to buy stuff for a weeks time only. They would rather do that and track how much quantity do they use for a weeks time so they know at some point how much do they need for a month. So far they do it weekly just so they do not miss any important ingredients needed for the coming weeks.
For rice though it is different. They buy a sack of rice from the mountains and once that gets finished they would need to buy a few kilos from a nearby market while they wait for the next shipment of a sack of mountain rice that is full of vitamins.

Hi sublime,
Thanks for your response,
Good idea, So we that we can know what quantity we require for a weeks time so that we can shop accordingly if we are shopping it every week. If helps us so that nothing will be left out to stock them for next week, we can shop again them freshly.
have a great day.

Hi Deepa,
In my household, we usually go grocery shopping every other week. We don't usually buy a lot at a time, but we like everything fresh. Paper products, such as toilet paper and paper towels, we buy every 3 months or so because it lasts forever in my house. It is just my husband and I and we don't go through a lot of food or paper products.
Now our coffee is FRESH as we can get it. We love coffee and go through it pretty frequent...which allows for us to keep fresh coffee in the house.

I am single and without a car so I buy groceries almost weekly. Sometimes daily but I have discovered that this is not the most economic way to do things. So now what I am doing is making a list, with recipe and meal planning in mind and I shop biweekly. I already found that this has helped me cut down on convienience foods and my budget.
