Yes, you read the title correct. Of course I'm talkiing about snowfall. I had to cancel a Dr. appointment for dad due to the blowing, drifting snow and below zero windchills this afternoon. I have cleared a couple inches so far and the worst is yet to start falling. Should get nearly a foot total by Wednsday afternoon. But, I love it actually. It looks so Christmassy right now with the snow and my lights on oiutside. So what's the weather doing in your area today?

Is this the storm that originated in the Rockies? It has arrived here now, and so has the blowing and drifting. I have a feeling your 10" is now playing around here.

It is actually 3 storms in a way. The cold winds are coming from Canada and blowing down on a front from the South that is moisture ladened, then the main storm is from Colorado orignally. That's what makes this so bad actually. Not the amopunt of snow, but the blowing and drifting that has just started badly.

sounds nasty! it sure is here, too, at the moment, and then, too, I'm in MI, so Canada and the Great Lakes always factor in. stay warm and safe!

I use a snowblower most times to rid the drive etc of the snow.
But I am still good enough to do it by hand as well. It does
tire me out greatly by hand due to my asthma but I manage doing
it a little at a time then back out to do a little more etc.

Can you send some of that snow our way. We don't want a whole lot but a little bit will do. lol They said we were supposed to get snow showers last Saturday but it didn't happen. Now they say we might see some this weekend but I doubt it will happen. It will be mine and hubby's 6th year anniversary this Sunday and we are going to dinner so I hope nothing happens to stop us from going. I would like to see some snow though because I think it's so pretty especially around Christmas time.

Hi BOB, big snow is a must for Chistmas.
In my country, it does snow in December, but not very big. I love snow too. It brings atomosphere for festival. Can you imagine a Christmas without snow.
In China, Spring Festival is the most celebrated. We also expect snow. I have good memery about playing snow in childhood. So don't worry how big the snow is unless it causes trouble to your life. Just enjoy the fun a big snow brings.

When I was first saw your title I was quite impressed!!
All this shovelling of snow must be a real pain and hard work. Can you get your doors open if it gets to one foot high?
Guess it loks real pretty.
Today in Adelaide it ios a beautiful, sprong day of 22 degrees C. I should be outside raking up the leaves and pulling up weeds, instead of being on My LOt.

The wind usually keeps the snow from doorways most times. But there have been timnes I've had to shove really hard to get the door opened in previous storms. Back in October of 1991 we got 49 inches of snow in a 24 hour span. Yes, over 4 feet of snow at once. The whole area was closed for a couple days till things got cleared etc. Even Minneapolis a city of 350,000 was shut down. nO BUSSES, CABS, ETC ETC WERE ON THE STREETS. jUST SKIERS AND SNOWMOBILES.

I wish we could get a good snowfall here in Indiana. We have got about a half inch so far for the season and it is all gone now. We have some 50 mile an hour winds ciming in tonight and tomorrow with some showers and some hail. I am dreading the damage and power going out. I wish it was just snow instead.

We got 25 MPH winds with gusts up to 40MPH with this snow and cold. So that makes it a tad unpleasant. But so far it is bearable for me as I love the snow and cold.

RAIN, RAIN, windy, more rain. No snow yet thank goodness, as i am not a lady who likes to drive in the snow!!! but although the temperature is not freezing during the day,- quite mild during the day when its not windy, but very very cold at night. we have had lots and lots of rain. Roads have flooded and the soil is very waterlogged. But I am more fortunate than some poor souls in GB. They have been flooded right out, houses damaged and even one brave policeman lost his life when a bridge he was standing on collapsed,(he was making sure that no one drove on it as it was dangerous). So no snow yet..... But it looks like you will have the classic white christmas, very pretty on the christmas cards, but really really cold and not so pretty when the snow gets sloshy and frozen ruts on the road. So drive safely Grandpa Bob. and of course Seasons Greetings

So this snow will be welcomed for the spring thaw.

Hey Grandpa Bob! I guess, as always you are the first to get the
most significant snowfall again this year! So far, all we have
had was a tiny bit of flurries, with nothing sticking yet! It
has finally gotten down in the thirties and is starting to feel
a bit more like December! But, there still is no real prediction
for any real snowfall yet! I'm sure your house is looking real
Christmasy already! Now we will be waiting for all those beautiful
ice photos that you are so famous for! I can't believe it has been
a whole year already since we've seen them! Am really looking forward
to seeing them again!

Most our winter storms generate from the Rockies. So Denver area gets hit then it flows our way. That's where this storm started at yesterday. I am planning on some ice crystal photos soon as well.

Hi GrandpaBob: I had a great "snicker" at your Title there...ROTFL!!
Anyway I was thinking about you when I heard on the news all the weather
you've been getting and are still gonna get, UGH!!! You be careful now!!
In my town at first they thought we'd maybe get anywhere from 2-5 inches of snow
but so far today its just been RAIN, RAIN , SOME SLEET, MORE RAIN...really a nasty
windy cold day again; Which I hate!!
The other night we had some snow on the ground ( a nice tracking snow) and it was
gone by morning, now those are the kind of snowfall's I like...now you see it,
and then its gone!!
But here in Missouri you never know for sure what the weather is gonna do
more than likely my car will be a frozen tomb by morning which I hate!
and we could still receive some snowfall here??
Keep us posted and as I said you be careful ok? Just don't over do it
now trying to shovel all that snow..

Thanks.
I use aq snowblower most times so it's not really hard work.
But when I do it by hand I do a little then rest then a little more etc. My asthma keeps me from too much strenous work for an extended period of time. Got about 4 inches so far and now the winds are up to gusts of 40MPH. Can barely see across my street right now. My wife is taking the bus home tonight as work was slow and she closed an hour early.

Brrrrr. We may get up to 9 inches tomorrow. I have to drive in the stuff. The only time I truly enjoy the snow is when I am sitting inside my house in my comfy chair and looking out the window as the snow falls. Driving in it isn't fun at all!

I wish we would have snow tonight so I could have a legit reason to cancel my doctor appointment tomorrow. It's cold outside, but not snow time cold. However, I leave my coca-cola and bottles of water in the backseat of my car, and they are colder in my car than straight out of my fridge.

Well it is windy here. I have cleared a couple inches and
it's starting to drift along the edges of the driveway now.
Winds at about 25MPH here in the North Suburbs right now.
My house is rattling and creaking like crazy.
