for me, definately with the lights off. the only time i watch movies is if im at a buddys house, or if im with my girl. i especially like watching scary movies with her when the lights are off cause she has her arms wrapped around me pretty much the whole time. plus i like to watch her jump and freak out :)

I think I prefer to watch movies with the light on. I mean, lights off is fine too but I just like the atmosphere better with the lights on, especially when I watch thriller movies or some scary movies. I get scared pretty easily so I have to have the light on. Plus, it's not good to watch tv or do the computer in the dark with no other light on. It's suppose to be bad for your eyesight.

if watching a movie on tv, it is better when the lights are on. but if i am watching it on projector with large screen or a large tv screen, or movie theater, then lights off is better.

I prefer watching tv/movie with the lights off. I seldom watch a movie with some lights on, I always want to feel like I'm on a movie theater/houses...hehe! It is more relaxing and i enjoy watching any film with dim light or lights off.

Lights on if you are watching tv while doing something other else and Lights off when you are concentrating on watching the TV.

I prefer in lights off for non drama movie. Seriously, I have to feel all the sensation from those movie. The more sensation, the greater its feel. But for a drama and likes, if it's too bored, I can feel so sleepy lol, so mostly not all, I turn on the lights.

i like to watch movies in dark as the real pleasure and fun comes from the dark surrounding and our focus is on the screen only. in light, the focus is disturbed and your mind might rest to other surroundings too. As in multiplexes too, the dark envoirnment is maintained.

I tried watching a horror movie at home once with the lights off and I was all alone. No kidding, it was quite a pretty scary experience, although I felt no fear at all. Have you tried it?

Depends on the movie, really. If it's a horror or action movie, I like the lights off. That way it gives a better effect - for a horror movie it gives the feeling of something getting ready to jump around your own corner. And with action movies with all the fast-paced changing scenes, having the lights off can be pretty sweet. But if it's just a comedy or romance movie [which I'm not too fond of anyway...] then I prefer the lights on.

I prefer watching movies with the lights off. However, it is always good to leave a small source of light on. This is because when you are in the dark and are introduced with many flashes of light, your pupils dilate and contract many times constantly, so therefore your eyes are slowly being damaged. Thats why you should have a fixed source of light next to you so pupils remain in one position. If you notice sometimes when your watching a film, your eyes begin to itch/hurt you. Anyways, inspite of this i would generally watch a horror flick in the dark, to boost the 'scary' atmosphere making the film more enjoyable. :P
