Will India grow like Four Asian Tigers?

In 1960s-1980,the four asian tigers, singapore, taiwan, hong kong and south korea's economies grew by about 8-10% and now they all are developed countries with high standard of living.India's growth was pathetic 3.5% then. But since 2003 india's economy is growing at an average of 8.6% and the last quarter GDP growth was 7.9%.Do you think that india will be a developed country within 25 years from now if it can continue to grow at this pace?

The problem with India is its great size and population.Look at the four Asian Tigers as you say. They are small countries whose economy is like a prize horse and can be reigned in any direction while the Indian economy is like and elephant, hard to turn around.Nevertheless we have done quite well in spite of the rampant corruption and there is no reason why we should not be the next Superpower in every sense of the term.

There may be multiple reasons for a small county to be poor. Two that immediately come to mind is poor governance and bad location geographically.

Unless and until the corruption is reduced , india cannot develop. Also the youth is not interested in politics and other factors like control of population , literacy rate ,good infrastructure , tourism will develop our country there by improving the wealth of the country. We should not depend on countries like US , UK . US will support india meanwhile they will help pakistan in all aspects . so better if he have good relationship with asian countries like japan , korea and RUSSIA .
