Yes. My boyfriend and I both have DELL laptops and we swear by them because I have had laptops from HP and Gateway, and I was so disappointed. Just about everyone I know owns DELL laptops or notebooks because they are the most reliable of laptops and notebooks. I have had my DELL notebook for a while now, and I have not had any hardware issues with it. I had one software issue, but it was easily taken care of.

DELL Studio XPS. I highly recommend this brand of DELL. In fact, any of the Studio or XPS computers from DELL come highly recommended because they rarely break down. I know a lot of people who have the DELL Studio XPS, the Studio, and the XPS, and I never hear any complaints from them about their computers. I had my DELL Dimension E520 (I cannot forget this computer because it gave me such a hard time due to breaking down so much), the company replaced it with the DELL Studio brand, and I have not had any problems with this computer. When I had the Dimension E520, it was always crashing and breaking on me. It was a horrible computer. When it comes to DELL, you just really have to know what to buy. Now, if you never, ever, want your computer to break down, and you are a gamer, buy Alien Ware. It is from DELL, but it is there side company. Alien Ware is awesome!

Hi Hone.
I have had two dell laptops, and the first one I loved...it worked well and lasted and long time. The 2nd one, it did not last, even though I paid quite a lot for it. I am now using my older HP again until I can afford a new laptop.
I'll need to do a lot of research to see which one to go with. Cheapest sometimes works out fine, but it isn't always the best way to go if the machine doesn't do what you need or doesn't last long.
If you know there is troubles with Dell, choose another kind.

It was a Dell Inspiron and it cost a lot...too much for it to have "burned out" as far as the screen goes in just a year's time, but is wasn't under warranty any more, and it would cost $350 or more to fix.

i always considered dell a good brand for laptops especially because you can personalize the configuration and also the price normally are really ok!!So as regards last technologies adopted by dell i think they are not low if compared to other great brands as hp,asus, lenovo, sony etc...So as regards laptops in reality i had a good experience on dell systems and so i can suggest it in general!!As regards the battery life mmh..depends...normally if you need more battery life i suggest you to upgrade always your battery so if laptop have a 6 cell battery normally upgrade the power....so i think it depends also from your usage such as if you normally want a laptop for multimedia functions i think you need a strong battery but for a productivity laptop i think even a normal battery can be ok...

Dell is cheap junk! You get what you pay for! My company made us use Dell and all of us had problems! I wouldn't take a Dell if it was FREE! I've been using HP for over 20 years and have never had a problem 3 desk tops, 4 printers, 3 digital cameras and 4 laptops! Never A problem that I didn't or my kids create. Never had to call for any service! tdemex

! year ago I gave my HP laptop to my daughter for school! I got a HP Pavillion dv 6000 it has Vista on it, i really didn't want Vista because I heard so much neg. about it, but I tweaked it for me and am very happy with it! No problems at all it was on sale for $565 USD and it was a bargain! The problems with our Dells were many there was 8 of us working as road warriors and we traveled all over the USA!We had so many different problems the company had hired a tech service for us to call to straighten out software issues, we had problems with the screens, and battery problems. 2 key boards had to be replaced! LOL! Like I said I wouldn't take a Dell if it was free! tdemex

Which country are you? In Indonesia, I really not recommend Dell brand. It's not because Dell is bad, but more about after sales services. Service Point for Dell laptop is very few, as far as I know only located in 2 cities. That's some cons when buying Dell laptop.
Cheap price should be important aspect upon buying laptop, I agree. But don't forget after services they provide for your future problem.
In general, I think Dell is great laptop. Have tried it personally.

Sorry for late reply. I only know in Jakarta and Surabaya. I don't really haev experience but my friend did. He had this Dell laptop, after one year (warranty off) it can't be started. I tried to check it but no clues then I suggest him to sent it to Dell Service Point. He then sent it to Jakarta. He waited and he waited, after merely 6 months, he got called from Dell Service Center just to informed him that his laptop VGA is broken and need to be replaced, and he said that replacement might take around 4 months when the service part is ready (which mean the component replacement was not ready yet!) and the Center said he will called when the component is ready. After waiting for more 6 months, there were never any informations whether the component is ready or not, so it has been 1 year (and 2 months running until now) without any prior information from Dell Service Center. My friend want to take it back and canibalize it but the problem is that the laptop is in Jakarta right now.

Actually, I'm using my Dell laptop right now, haha! I love my Dell, it's a Dell Studio with the cool top design. The battery life on mine wasn't good at first, but after a while the time it would last became longer, probably from use. It has a bunch of neat features, and though you have to be careful of viruses, there are a ton of programs out there to help with that. I recommend them, because my dad had an Inspiron before his Dell and he hated it - it had so many problems! Once he switched to Dell, though, he didn't have as many problems, and the problems he did have were easily fixed.

Well, I'm okay with Dell laptop. I have bought a Dell laptop this year, and so far, I'm quite satisfied with it. I have been using a Dell desktop for more than 5 years, though the performance is slow now, I am still using it. That's why I still choose Dell laptop when I considered buying a laptop. I do like the Dell customer service, they are quite helpful.
