Who would like to have lived in medieval times

I have often wished that I lived in medieval times. It seems to me that life was more real then than it is now. People had more purpose in life, yet things were more simple, romantic, adventures and dangerous. I can imagine myself being saved by a white knight. A life without the stresses, illnesses, pollution and money problems of modern day life. And then I start thinking about the necessities of life such as running water, toilet, bath, shower, toilet paper, electricity, electrical lights, medical doctors, hospitals, medicine, etc. and I realize that perhaps I live in the right time for I can't imagine not having toilet paper to wipe my bum off or to live in a draughty cave and wearing animal skins with lice crawling over my dirty skin because I have never had a bath. Yet when I listen to the news and all the mayhem I can help wondering if mankind wouldn't have been better off staying primitive. What do you think?
