There were nights when i wanted to sleep but i just can't and was pretty lazy to get up to do anything else I just end up laying down on bed and just think of so many different sort of things. Like my disappointments, what could have been, and different things. There will be lot of things that would cross my mind. I just end up feeling sad most of the time because of my failures in life. And i would do some praying and make a wish that God somehow would bring some light in my situation. What do you do when you just can't sleep.

Hi dear! It really feels odd and uncomfortable when I lie on the bed and the sleep eludes me. It happens sometimes to me. If possible, I grab a book/magazine and read it. I've observed that continuous reading late at night help me go to sleep. Other option is to plug my ear phones and listen to some soft music till I feel sleepy. I refrain from watching TV, if I'm unable to sleep, as it does not help me much. No doubt that different thoughts keep crossing, when we are unable to sleep, in that case I start counting the numbers from 1 to 1000 and it helps me attain my sleep.

I try to relieve my stress or thinking. I try not to think much about stuff. If then I can't go to sleep, then I will go out of bed and read a book or watch some tv shows. Then I usually nod off after a while so then I can sleep in bed or place where I am sitting. lol.

It is a difficult situation. I faced it last night. I am a person who sleeps continously most of the days. I went to bed late last night becasue I came late from work. I slept as soon as I went to bed, but got awake after five hours. I couldn't sleep after that. I usually watch TV for some time, if I don't get sleep. Rarely, I read. Sometimes, I just lay in the bed thinking about a lot of things.

I am a Reiki Channel and I use that energy that puts me to sleep if I feel I cannot sleep naturally. It takes a few minutes but sleep is ensured.

I usually just continue to watch television or listen to some music. I suffer from insomnia fairly frequently so I have this problem a lot. Sometimes I take my sleeping pills when I think I might have the problem. My doctor prescribed me ambien and it usually works pretty well. Other than that, I just lay and toss and turn.

hi!! when times i cannot sleep, i grab a book and read. no matter how interesting the book i am currently reading, it makes me want to close my eyes and go to sleep. reading a book on the bed makes me fall asleep easily. but if im not on the bed, say i am reading in the dining room or in the couch, i do not get sleepy.

Usually I just sit there in my bed staring at my wall or ceiling until I fall asleep. I try to think about random things to take my mind off sleeping until I actually can. Of course, I'm also at the point where I enjoy having a little noise going in my room to help me fall asleep. When there's not any, it makes me feel a bit weird. I guess just because I'm so used to it. That helps too.

You don't think about your debt. and many problems just relax and feel your self sleeping remember the last organ on your body to sleep is your ear so stop about thinking everything.

I actually do the same thing. I think of my disappointments and the things I should have done, or should have accomplished. I tend to reflect on it and make a mental list on my head on what I should improve on. I pray on it and hoping things would be better the minute I get up from bed. Sometimes I also think of the things I plan to do for my daughter, hoping that I can give her a better future.

A lot of us experiences difficulty in getting a good sleep at night and we tend to think different things which could lead us to depression and anxieties. It's because of this that we develop some strange mental illnesses. I guess, in order to avoid this is indulge into some activities for a while until we could go to sleep like reading, playing some games or simply watching tv.

Hi, hotsummer. I am the same way too. I think about what I have to do for the rest of the week. I think about how much money I want to make online and at home. I think about making sure that I help my son study as much as possible in school. I also think about any bad things that has happened to me that same day or previous day. I think about what chores that I have to complete in my home. I think about how I want to make sure that my rent is paid on time and not late. If I can't sleep, I will just read or get me something cool to drink out of the fridge. I will lay back down once that is done.

Well, certainly it is not happened in me. LoL. I am an easy sleeper. Whenever I lay down my body on bed, I can sleep well just in maybe about 3-5 minutes. I even can sleep easily on chair :) But there are also some cases that I can't sleep even I have lay down on bed and feel very tired. Mostly because I have something to think about, usually about coding and programming from work. When this happen, I can't help myself but to experiment it in front of the computer which means minimum 1 more hour in front of computer. If not, then I usually just switch the TV on and watch some movies (if any, or watch DVD). Reading book actually a good sleeping pill for me as I always feel sleepy whenever I am studying (back in school time) LoL :)

I have done the things you have such as think about the mistakes I have made in my life and how I want to fix them. I worry about things that haven't even happened yet. However, I tend to feel they will one day. If I get sick of thinking about all this stuff I will watch TV, read or pray to God that I can fall asleep and someday be happy once day.

I am basically the type of person who can sleep immediately when I lay down in bed. There are times that I can't sleep, which only means that I have things going on my mind or things bothering me. When that happens, I usually let myself think and think, and I also pray to God for guidance. I know that God would always be there for me, so I take my time to think about things even if I really want to sleep. I just listen to some soothing music to make myself relaxed and have some tentative solutions to my worries. I admit that I also feel sad during those moments but I always try to keep a positive disposition. Take care! :)

Usually when I cannot sleep I like to read. I always keep a book by my bed for the times that I cannot sleep. I also have a t.v. in my room so sometimes I just lay there and channel surf. I find that thinking just keeps me awake so much longer. I also like to pray when I can't sleep.
