What is the difference between Listening and Hearing??????

As per me Hearing is the process where the sound waves are transferred from the eardrum to the brain which then the decodes it whereas Listening is the interpretation of it after the decoding by the brain.........

Listening is simply hearing the communication and letting it go in one ear and out the other. Hearing is letting the information enter your head processing it and understanding it or asking for feedback to make sure you understood it correctly in the first place.

YEah, i do agree with what u say here.. HEaring is the process of receiving information from sources, while listening is the processing of information received.. haha =D BUt then, in terms of usage of the two words, both can be used with the same meaning, such as, "Are u listening"?? or, "Do u hear me"?? hehe
