I am a 26 year old overweight female that needs to quit smoking. I hate the smell and I hate the taste. I do not have any will power to stop though. I always buy another pack as soon as I run out. I want to try the medicines or the patches, but i can not seem to be ready to do it. I need motivation or something to get me going.... Any Ideas?????

I quit once before and then restarted again in 5 years, that was the dumbest thing I've done in my whole life! The key for me at the time was I (you) had to really want to I mean really really want to! I used the patch! The Dr. gave me a hint, when you go down from 21mg. to 14 mgs. start clipping a little off the 21 every day and stay comfortable so the shock won't be there when you switch! That really helped he said that's when most people quit the program. Also even though you have bad dreams keep the patch on 24/7 ! I also chewed gum and it worked I didn't smoke for 5 years, but I craved one every day! It was a bi**h! tdemex

Thank you for that comment. It was very helpful. I guess in all reality I do not want to quit but I know that I need to for my health. I guess then when the time is right it will happen huh?

Well I'm 62 now and I know it's going to cut my life short! but I just don't have the mind set to quit again being unemployed doesn't help much either! I'm at 1 1/2 packs a day but I'm in Mexico and their really cheap here, that doesn't help either! Good luck1 tdemex
