There is currently no proven treatment for asthma as yet BUT there are ways to manage your asthma so that it doesn't get out of hand and lead to an asthma attack. I have had asthma since a baby and I still have it to this day. Things you can do to manage asthma is to stay away from the things that are likely to trigger it such as dust, pollen, petrol, some foods such as chips and even some nuts. I once ate cashews and had severe asthmas afterwards. It was so bad I had to use the nebuliser again.
So just don't eat the things that cause your asthma to be triggered and the things that you breathe in.

I am a licensed nurse and not that I am a doctor in saying this, but I will tell u there is NO CURE for asthma. It is something that we inherited and have to live with.
The medications on the market are only to help relieve the symptoms. Common medications are Nebulizers, Ventolin, Symbicort, Prednisone, and Doxofylline.
And of course, you should know your asthma triggers and avoid them. Increase your physical activity as needed- especially swimming.-- I can testify it does help!!

I have suffered from asthma for last fifteen years. It can be simply devastating. In the past, I had spend countless nights struggling to have some oxygen in. Sipping just plain warm water during attacks helped a lot. Putting legs below knees in a bucket of warm water also help. Whenever possible, go for long walks and breath heavily and slowly. You can start asana/pranayama; Baba Ramdev's daily 2 hour class on Astha channel can help you tremendously in this regard. Unless emergency, avoid inhalers and other allopathic medication -- they may lead to stiffness in the chest and shoulders in the long run Happy recovery.
