Our family lives so far from our relatives. When I say far, it means they are oceans away from us. We needed to transport through a plane or a big ship. With these gap, I have never attended my granparents'(my father's parents) funeral. Our dad was the only one who's able to come and visit the wake. Whenever I attend funerals of my friends' family, I feel so sad. It makes me wonder "what if the one who died was a relative of mine?". I always got teary eyed when I see them crying. It melts my heart. Now, I have been wondering how does it really feel? To see your family or relative lying down in a coffin? I have never cried when my grandma and grandpa died because I didn't grew up with them, therefore, I don't have any close relationship with them. Well, I'm saddened but never really gotten hysterical.

Hi invisiblelady, I recently felt how it feels to have a very close family member seen in a coffin. It was truly heartbreaking when I saw my mother slipped away in front of my own eyes. It's all the more heartbreaking to see her lifeless body lyingi n a coffin. The experience was really traumatic...

Hi invisiblelady and gayathri, I am trying to be okay. Guess I don't have much choice. I am always Mama's girl. So you can just imagine the pain pierced through my heart when that happens. But I have to be okay. Let go of what you cannot have. There were lessons learned and things to do...

For me I see to it that I can always pay respect to those members of the clan that has passed away. This is to atleast give the family some comfort and security during their grieving. It's different loosing someone not close to you. You will feel no pain or atleast you won't cry over them. You are just paying your respects to them. Maybe because you have no memories of them to reminisce with. Those happy moments with a family member is what we miss. And makes us cry.

yeah it really hurts... I remember when my dad was hospitalized. We all thought that he's dying. That is so tragic. We can't eat and have fun while our dad is at the hospital... I don't know what else could I do if he passed away.. Sad.. really more than sad..

AH when you think of someone close to you happens to die. It will also sting the heart. I myself try to avoid any kid of topic about it happening. Even we are telling our selves that yeah it's ok it isn't.
