Starting a new business

I am looking to start a new business. I am working with two other women and we are starting a non-profit dispensory for medical marijuana in my state. We have set up the board of directors and are working on a business plan. I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts/opinions/ideas on how to make the most of a new business from the start. If you have experience in this or you have any thoughts, please share. You never know what might be usefull to me.
