Is there a current hockey player or a newly retired player that would make a good hockey coach?I was discussing Shanny with my friend and I asked him if he would make a good hockey coach and he thought not.So it got me thinking ,is there a retired player that would make a good hockey coach?Or even a current player?

I vote for Chris Chelios..there isn't a guy in hockey with a better work ethic than he has. And his true passion for the game is proven by the fact he would rather play in the american league than retire. His sons are going to be worldclass hockey players if they stick with it as well.
McCarty would make a great kids coach don't you think?

I think that Rod Brind'Amour from the Carolina Hurricanes would make a good coach. He has a really good work ethic and he is very well schooled in the game of hockey. This is a great discussion. Thanks for starting it!!

I agree. He would make a great coach. You are welcome. It is all because of my Red Wings buddy. He didn't think Any of The Wings would make good coaches. I'm too close to really tell.
