Take a break. Do something interesting like listening to music or take a walk. Go on a vacation. Why don't you take a look at my article on "Overcoming writers block?" You can find this article in my blog. Please visit my profile to view the blog.

The best way to break writer's block is to write. Write daily, even if it's complete crap, you will stumble and fall, but in the end you can run across a great idea. And keeping in the habit will help when you do find the right idea.

Sounds like you need some inspiration! Maybe relax a little, take a little time for yourself and stop trying so hard! Sometimes I think when writers block happens, I'm thinking too hard and need to relax some.....when you least expect something, that's when something comes along.

When writer's block happens to me, I go to my computer and just start typing anything that pops into my head. It may be a recipe, a description of my child or pet, how lonesome the day is, or the weather - in short - anything. It may take more than one try, but I find eventually the block is chipped away and I usually find a story or article on the other side. Just don't freak out, figuring you'll never write again. If you have talent, it will rise to the surface with the above exercise. Good Luck!

I end up with writer's block quite often there are several ways to keep yourself going, even if you can't seem to stay with the topic you "need" to write about, there are tons of ways and things that you can do to help break the block. 1) Take a few days off away from writing. Sometimes this will help clear your head and get you back on track. Just let yourself relax. 2) If you feel the need to write. You found a great place to do it. Work on answering discussions, making sure that your sentence structure is clear to understand, well written and that you have proper spelling. Pick any topic from what someone has opened as a discussion, or like you did with the writer's block question, just throw something out there. Make sure you make it a nice long discussion, helps with the points. :) Which is always nice. 3) Create different writing exericises. A great exercise is writing for 10 minutes. It doesn't have to be about anything. Start off with a question for yourself like "I feel sad because...." Then start writing, if you get off subject that is okay, keep going. The point of this exercise is to write for 10 minutes. Who knows your next best seller may be hiding in your wonderings of the mind. Another good exercise is called "1000 words about nothing" Look around the room you are in and pick an item, then come up with 1,000 words for that item. If it is a good item. Describe the food item in as much detail as you can, for example how it tastes, is the texture smooth or gritty, sweet or spicy. 4) Create a character. This is actually quite time consuming and can help new stories generate in the long run. Think of some of the characters you can come up with. Keep a notebook ready that is just for character creating. Then fill it up with different character descriptions, etc. Always remember that writing isn't just about putting together a story or article, it is a much larger realm. There are things to research and ideas to jot down. You can research different writing markets, see what is available in the magazine market, what they are looking for, etc. Good Luck and Happy Writing!

Take a long walk alone, that usually helps me. ^-^ It might help to try listening to classical music you've never heard before, too.
