I have tried using ebay a couple times before to sell somethings with my mom- we did sell some, but most of the things we listed didn't sell. That was last year or so, and I haven't listed anything since. Mostly because of laziness, and partly because of the fees. :P
Maybe some ebay users can help me out here. I have a couple more things I want to list now- are there still fees to list? and is there a difference in those fees to list for a auction and to list at a firm price (or maybe firm price was just for users with shops?)?
And if you have any other selling tips, I'd appreciate it. ^0^

Yeah! I would say that your better chances of selling your items would be to log into Craiglist. They have a wide variety of sellers and you could sell just about anything... clothes, electronics, vehicles, services, and the list goes on. You can even find jobs. Most importantly, watch out for scammers!!!! They try to make up these phony websites and steal you username and password. Make sure that you are logged into the correct Craigslist site.

hi olisaur,
I think ebay got some promotional on going where you can list the 1st 5(five) items free without any listing fees every month. It's been on going for a couple of months now. No idea until when.Try your luck.
You can also try ecrater and ioffer but the traffic are not much compare to ebay.

You could try selling on Craig's list , there are no fees there.

First off get really good, clear pictures of your merchandise. It costs an additional 15 cents for every picture you add after the first one. It doesn't cost to just list an item, but if you want to add things on to your listing to make it stand out it costs additional 15-30 cents. Specify how much the shipping is when your selling, so bidders no the actual full price before they bid. And charge more for shipping then it originally will be because that's how you make alot of your money is charging extra for the shipping. Also research how much each item costs to ship, as I learned this the hard way and charged too little for shipping and ended up paying for half the buyers shipping! Also use really good descriptions of it, and communicate with the bidders!

I don't know what items you are selling on Ebay, but if you happen to be selling something like movies such as vhs, dvd, cd's or anything in that nature, you can go to their partner site which is called half.com. I, myself have a huge video collectioin on that site and am trying to get rid of them. I've been doing pretty good on sales; I can't say how much I've earned thus far but the sales you make adds up. And plus, they reimburse you for shipping the item whatever it happens to be. I sold some items on Ebay not too long ago and they happened to be videotapes that a little value to them. On the other side of the sale, the person thought that the item I sold to them was a dvd and had a problem with paypal in which I settled quickly. So I continue to sell on half.com
