Hi friends
Everyday whenever I go to sleep, I will not forget to put my night lamp on as I can't sleep in the dark, besides if we get up in the middle of night due to some reasons, it will be useful to locate the switch board. What about you? Do you use a night lamp while sleeping? please share with me.

Hi vathsala!
Please do not take it as exgerration.......lol! I also just cannot sleep with my night lamp on, which gives dim but sufficient light in the complete darkness. I just cannot sleep, with full lights on or in complete darkness. I need to have some dim light in the room so that if I get up in the middle of night, I should not grope in dark for water or my slippers. It is advisable to put the night lamp on, as per experts also. A dim light gives you a kind of security at night.

Hi deepak
Actually it is good to have one dim night lamp in the bedroom, so that in the middle of night, if we get up we can see atleast where the switch board is or water bottle or chappals

Hi vathsala,
I don't have the habit of sleeping with lamp. I used to sleep with the same when my kids were too small. Now my hubby keeps a torch near to him, if in need, he will use the same in dark. I am quite familiar with the places and I can reach the place even in darkness. My kids won't sleep if the light is there even if the zero-bulb is ‘on’.

Hi Baluyadv
Nice to see your response after a couple of days. In hostels generally the corridor lights will be switched on to give enough light for the inmates in the night i think. How about now. Still you sleep with the tube lights on?

Hi Aunty,
I dont use night lamps as i dont get sleep. Only when my neice or nephews come then only i keep the light lamp or else not. They tell that they dont get sleep without the night lamp.
Have a great day.

Hi lamp (deepam)
Some people use a night lamp while sleeping and some other likes to sleep in the total darkness. It depends upon the individual taste. Thanks for responding dear

Hi shinu
How do you do my dear. i think after a long gap you are back again which gives me immense pleasure to see our mylot friend back after a long gap.
yes the dim night lamp gives us some sort of security as, if any sound comes or any insects like cockroaches crawls (imagination only, we do not have any roaches), or if we need to use toilet, or need our water bottle in the middle of night, this light helps us to locate the things quickly instead of moving around in the darkness in search of switch board and dashing against the wall or door. Thanks for sharing your valuable views dear.

Night lamp is a must for me without which I cannot sleep. When I go to relative's house, sometimes I may have to stay there for the night. I have seen in some houses, they never use night lamps. They will not have one with them to use it for only that night also, for my sake. I wonder how they are sleeping in darkness. We have to get up in the night for bathroom, for some sound, for something that is biting us like bugs, ants etc. If a night bulb is there, immediately we can see what it is.

You are absolutely right. i totally agree with you. It not only gives dim light in the night, enabling us to see immediately the above said things and also in total darkness we can not sleep.

Hello! As I was living alone abroad I used to switch on night lamp while i was sleeping, I really liked it, it made me feel more comfortable :) but now I don't do like that anymore. I think it is not very safe and it uses electricity and these times when we have economical crises we are saving everything we can at home...:)

Hello missweety
Thank you for your response. Using a night lamp depends upon personal likes and dislikes. But I strongly feel that it is advisable to have one dim light. We have a very dim blue light which helps us locate objects in the middle of night if we happen to receive any telephone calls or water bottle etc.

Yes and no.. I have a green light on my air freshner that lights up the wall in my bedroom. And the front lights from outside lights up the room. So, that makes it good for me not to have to use a night light. I normally turn my kitchen light on under the sink on when it is early in the mornings. It leaves the kitchen light up so that I can see.

Hi cream dear, how are you? Green is very cool and i like it. We need some dim light which gives enough light to see the bigger object in the middle of night. Actually we have street lights near my gate which gives enough light for the bedroom and we need not switch on another one in the bedroom. But now it is not working. So I bought a new one. Thank you friend for responding. Have a nice week end

Usually my lamp is on when I'm sleeping, whatever on or off I still can sleep. I don't see my bathroom if my light is off. I've fallen from the stairs when I woke up suddenly the lights is switched off.

Hi may
Now how are you? Are you all right after falling from the stairs and any injury? Please be careful when ever you get down from the stairs. For emergency sake, keep one torch with you while going to sleep. It will be handy in the middle of night, if we want to get up for some reasons, and if there is no lights switched on. Thank you very much for responding.

I have a small night light that I plug in the outlet in the kitchen. It is bright enough that I can see to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Without a night light I would probably be running in to wall and that would hurt can not have that.

hi happy
your idea is correct. Even some time before, we use to switch on the dim night lamp in the corridor, which gives enough light to see the objects, in the corridor, kitchen, hall and all the 3 bedrooms. now we are having very dim blue night light, which is pleasant in all the rooms. Whether we like it or not it is essential to have some dim light in the odd of night if we happen to get up for some needs and we can not walk in the darkness.

Hi swarna garu
your idea is very nice. I think people like me should know this idea. See, I am using a dim night lamp and some times I will forget to switch it on and in the middle of night, if I need some water or for some other purpose, I need to get up, I will simply dash against doors or walls. Thanks for responding and giving some good idea. bye

Funny that I have seen this discussion here because just this week I got a new job that I had to wake up really early for. Though I put my alarm on I did not want to oversleep so I decided to leave my light on and sleep and I never got any sleep. I tossed and turned and the light bugged me so much. The next day I just put it off and thankfully I was able to sleep. I can never have any sleep with the light on, not even a night lamp!

Hi priscy
There is nothing to feel funny about this discussion. It is the day to day affair which happens in all the houses. Some people like to have a night lamp switched on while sleeping and some other do not like to have one. It depends upon individual's taste. That is all. The discussion about is whether we use it or not in other words, whether we like to use or not and nothing else. Thanks for sharing your views, my friend. Have a nice week end dear.

At home I can sleep with the light off just because even in the event that I had to get up in the middle of the night, I already know my way around the house. Though, if I'm over someone else's house, I tend to sleep with a light on just for a sense of security :o

Hi dudebeccafell
I think you are a new mylotter and my hearty welcome to you my friend.
If we are used to the way around the house then it alright otherwise we will be dashing against the walls and doors in the dark if we need to get up for want of something like water go to the toilet. Thanks for responding

hi aunty, no, i won't keep night lamp, even i don't like also.. because, it flashes on my eyes. i won't get sleep when light was on. because of my kids, i keep on the light near the bathroom. The light will flash near our room, so no need to put the light in the room. thankyou, have a nice day.

Hi neelima
If the light near the bathroom is on then there is no need to switch on the night lamp because you get its light dimly in your bedroom which is enough for you. Thanks for your response

No night lamps in our house. I'd prefer it to be totally dark when trying to sleep. The only thing I would see is the digital time from the corner of the room. As the light switch is just near the headboard, at arms length, I never found the need for a night lamp.

Hi bounce
If you do not like a dim night lamp then it is ok but it is better to have one so that in the middle of night if we get up there will not be total darkness. Thanks for responding
