I'm bored still of going through getafreelancer and elancer and co as their jobs are so hard to get, and usually they pay minimum wage since most of the users spam their bids.
Where is a place where I can register / pass a test / and actually work online as an article writer. I'm certainly experienced but I still can't find a good place to start writing.
Also, I'm trying out Bukisa but I probably need more friends in expand my network, I've been posting daily there but still haven't earnt as much as mylot.
Any suggestions guys ?

Hi,
Did you try microworkers or shorttask or miniworkers. There are tasks to write articles. In microworkers, after you complete your tasks and the employer rates it satified, you will be credited. So no spamming here. If the employer does not rate you properly, you can report to the site.
Another site to write stories is work-online. You can write small stories there. Now it is under maintenance and will be up and running after christmas. You can check my site in the profile for more writing options.

Dear Mylotter have you tried Associated Content . It has a good reputation . You can also look out for Helium , Hubpages , Triond , Flixya.
There is one IM Report Card where you can write reviews and get paid handsomely.

I am on flixya and so far made only a little over $3 there just blogging. lol I know. Ha ha but I like the fact that I made money and that counts. I make more at Ehow though compare to Flixya and Associated Content. I am also on hubpages but someone told me that they don't really well right now and all I have on there is three articles compare to Ehow with 67 and Associated Content with 45 articles.
I haven't tried Triond but scared to use it but however about Helium? I hated that site. they don't pay as well as Associated Content for upfront payment where the most you can earn is with four or five stars, it is $2.50 each.
But yeah. AC has a good reputation but sometimes the editors can be hard though when you are trying to make money on there by trying to get upfront payment.

Okay , so that means you have limited opportunities because of the preferential treatment of US sites. I have recently joined a site where Payment is done on completion of some work.It is a Global site. I am new to the site and working on it. Minimum Payout is $25 . I would recommend you that you may join it and when I reach the payout I can give you a proof so that you would be assured of its authenticity. Till then you can become a member and if you like you can work too. There are also other incentive programs related to writing of News. You can explore the website after joining , it is a free website so no harm in joining. Payment proof is my responsibility to get and present to not let you waste your time . :-)

I'm from Thailand, so I don't go for AC as their are US based. Helium too, hubpages ehow too. They only offer US based writers as they think we're stupid in English. IM Report Card will never verify users from Thailand, I wrote a 1000 words in great discription of myself and they still said I couldn't pass their standards due to living in Thailand. I call that racist.

Hi Niitesh ,
I tried to open the Article through your website link but sadly it is not opening up at all. I would like to read that article otherwise can you share some information. Even I have come across a new program which is a global news site and it has simple work to do for getting a payout . The concept is good and I am trying my best to reach the payout asap so that I can present my payment proof to the fellow myLotters. If you would like to know or join it please let me know. It is free to join and the website is tremendously informative.
Thanks

You are in Khon Kaen ! A very beautiful place. Sawasdi Krup ! Sabai di Mai ? I have been to Thailand many times, "Land of Smiles" ! But, have not been to Khon Kaen yet. I like to, one day. Regarding "writing", here is a site you might want to take a look : work-online.org.uk
As you can see, this is a UK site. You can write articles there. Some tasks are only for UK, US and Canada participants. But, some are for participants from countries around the world. I am in Canada. I have been writing articles online at this site, and get paid.
Take a look at it. Let me know if this works for you. If not, I will give you another site.
Have a nice day ! Sawasdi Krup !

Nice comment greenline, I will totally check work-online.org.uk out. Looks pretty good and I think I can come up with a few good stories there. Hopefully they will give me the opportunity to write.
Looks like you enjoyed your stay here in Thailand, it is a great country ^^.

Oh heck yeah. I can give you a boatload of places to try. I am not sure if you heard of this site but I got lucky on my second try and have been their writer since October 13, 2009 and made $75 for the month of October and November. I am scared to write more for this month though since I now have 5 articles that are rejected and 6 that made me money. The site is called Demand studios and lots of writers online know about it. The articles ranges from $3-$20 each.
Textbroker is another site to consider since they do make you do a sample writing test where you can choose one of the three topics to write about. The pay foe each articles ranges from a buck somewhere to where at the most, $21. I made $175.25 in April 2009 and they only pay by paypal as well.
Lovetoknow pays at least $20 for 650 word articles. I wish I am one of their writers but failed like 2 or three times now.
Wisegeek pays at least $10 to start off and they are hard to nab as well. I failed two times to try to be one of their writers but I guess I am not good enough for them?
Internet brands pay in between $4-$10 depending on how many words the articles have to have. And they made the site called Wahm.com and I love their forum since I am a mom as well. Even if you are not a mom, they have some neat online sites for you to try to make money as well where other people tell each other of all these sites online.
There are just way too many to name but I wrote a few articles on Associated Content where I talk about some of them that have to do with getting upfront payment. And oh yeah. demand studios also have articles where you can try to earn revenue as well but they let you know whether the articles would be revenue based or upfront payment.
Let me know if you are interested on reading the sites about making upfront payment. I am still waiting to get some words on two different companies where you have to do a sample writing test for them. Wish me luck on getting hired. I really need it.

You're post is great, looks like you have lots oof experience in writing, the problem is, I'm living in Thailand / Asia where most sites think we are not good enough in English to qualify to write which I really hate it as I used to live in abroad for 6 years and I can speak as fluent as a native. Sucks big time.
AC is a no go for internationals as you can only earn from views which are alot lower compared to Bukisa. I'll try out to see if the rest of the sites you mention are international meaning they don't accept only US citizens.
I was wondering if I could get my friend over at the US to apply for me but use my Paypal ID and give them a user name and password ?
Though I doubt they'd know I'll be using a Thai IP. Maybe it's worth a shout.
