Treating children like race-horses.

how often parents are caughtup in this vice.There was an instance when a father who was hell-bent on making a table-tennis champ out of his teen son ended up by killing his son and himself behind the bars.He made it a point to punish his son at the slightest of mistakes.This kind of an obsession made the son extremely fearful of his father till one day he had to succumb to his father's violent beatings.Mothers also fall a victim when their competitive sense overrides the child's natural inclination with horrible results.Agreed that life is so competitive one has to be on his toes but when competition becomes a be-all and end-all in life the children suffer.

hi, your titel attact me, I want to know how to treat childer like race-horses?
After read your article.maybe you are right. but in my mind. It would be better to treat children as your good friend. You hv to respect them but not always treat them as a little boy or girl.
