Its friday and its dress down day .By that I mean that its a day when you you get out of suit and ties (well for me its shirt and dress pants,I hate suits and I hate ties)and hop into jeans and Tshirt or oxford shirt. The Tshirts and oxford shirt however, have to have the company logo on it .
My issue though is that my company is asking me to pay for these shirts which they get logo-ed because I am thinking that this is advertisement for them and its free so the least they could do is buy the shirt and give us .
What say you?,am I being cheap, after all this company has been paying me for seven years now.Should I just consider this a giving back excercise and wear their logo with pride for free ?

I agree with you. I have worked at companies in the past that had logo t-shirts. However, they did not ask us to pay for them. I would not have paid for one either. So what happens if you dont buy one??? Can you just wear something else??? Or take the day off??? Tell them you can afford to buy one! LOL!!! Maybe they give a raise?!?! This one company that gave us the tshirts. I still had the shirt after i quit that job. I liked it because it was green. I would wear it inside out. I had grudge.

GOOD MORNING RONNYB, I think if the company wants you to wear a shirt w/their logo they should furnish them. Hope u have a great weekend.

No you are not being cheap! They should be giving the shirt for free to their employees in recognition of their hard work. Happy employees are what makes a company successful.

You are not being cheap,This is a stupid rule .Being my spiteful self .I wouldn't dress down on Fridays until the company gives out the t-shirt for free. This sounds like fascists thought up this rule. Dress down means being comfortable for one day not pimping the company. I'm sorry,My rant is over.

i think the co. should pay for your shirts too if they tell you what you can wear and what not to.it is free adversting!People should stand up more for their rights.

Ok,you are not cheap.Maybe you can propose some suggestions. In general,it's hard for employee to accept such thing.Obviously,it's unfair.I believe you can win the support of many people. So ,to tell your company your thoughts.

I know what you mean. You just want to wear whatever feels the most confortable for you on that day. I guess I would go ahead and wear the logo tee though, to show the company the respect they are wanting from their employees. Good luck!

My company wanted us to wear company logo-ed shirts for whenever someone "important" was in the building. But they didn't make us pay for them..i don't think I would have. If they want you to wear them, they should just give them to you. I don't think you are being cheap!
