Favorite activities in winter months?

So when it's starts to get cold like it is now and actually below zero... what do you like to do? Favorite things to do indoors? Usually for me that's baking and laying Wii boxing w/ the family and of course chill'n on MyLot. Outdoors things to do? I really don't care for the great outdoors in winter. I feel like an old fuddy duddy cause I'd rather hide in the warmth of somewhere. But a friend of mine I just met likes to go snowmobling. I don't have one but I'd like to give it a try. I'd always wanted to try cross country ski'n or snow showing on those warm 30 something degree days ;0)

Ok, winter may seem to be a cold, ugly season but you can surely do many things in that time. If it counts, indoor activities that I do is decorate my house for christmas and stuff, have parties, and cuddle up with my family in front of the fireplace. As for outdoor activities, I regularly go skiiing, and snowboarding for sports, and I usually go outside, and either start throwing snowballs at my family, friends, neighbours or either make a wonderful christmas snowman.

Snowball fights with my kids is awsome. I do like decorating for Christmas however with my small kids they can't leave anything alone so that in itself can be challenge.

I skateboard pretty much everyday so I would be pretty unhappy. I would probably play guitar a lot, learn a couple of new songs etc. Write blogs. As you said MyLot. But after a while I would start getting pretty bored. I enjoy the summer much more.

Well they do have indoor skate parts here though I know it's not the same as being outdoors. I do like warmer weather much better myself & a few other activites I'm really missing with having young kids.

Indoors: Cuddling on the couch with a blanket, hot chocolate, my tv, and the internet :) We catch A LOT of movies in the winter. Outdoors: Not too much! I'm not a fan of being cold so about the only thing I do outside in the winter is shovel snow. I actually enjoy shoveling snow sometimes b/c it's good exercise! But otherwise I like to stay warm indoors.

I've never been ski'n but I'd be happy to hang out at a lodge. Since I don't drink it would be hot chocolate for me!

When it's cold, I like to knit warm things inside, but I like to walk in the snow, too. I don't do sports as such, but now and then a snowball fight is fun if I can find someone to have one with! I used to ice skate in the winter but haven't for years.

My niece lives in Colorado and likes to snowboard. I think cold weather is good sleeping weather and my cats warm up my bed!

Now, let me reflect on this a little! I guess I love the height of winter as it means I get to lock myself indoors with a good book and escape if that makes any sense! I'm sitting in my chair, the wind is whistling sweet nothings at my window, the world is covered white with a blanket of snow and there's me indulging in my favourite activity of reading whilst firmly grasping a hot mug of tea in my hands trying to keep warm! I think Stephen King does the trick for me! In terms of doing things outside at the height of winter, I don't indulge in this much! I would love to sit in front of a log fire and dream, reflect, ponder on days gone by! Here I talk like an old man but I'm only thirty-four! Still, I like the winter atmosphere, it certainly makes that being indoors all the more cosier! Andrew

My family likes to stay in and hibernate in the winter and to be honest we don't do much of anything outside in the winter months. I know there are fun things to get out and do like skiing and snowmen but brrr...it gets too cold. We do get out once or twice and get some sled riding in but that is about it. We have what we call family camp out night, we do this every winter because of the cold and not being able to get outside. We let the kids choose which they would rather do but we take Saturday night and either have a game night or a movie night. We take the night starting about 6pm and do take out and I will make some snacks like brownies and we will just spend the night till about 10 or 11 and either play card/board games or we watch two or three movies. This will happen again next weekend and we are going to each pick a Christmas themed movie. Although it is not much the kids really seem to like it because it is a night pretty much all about family and they get to make the decision of what game or movie they like...

Inside: We watch a lot of movies during the colder months of the year. We also have family movie nights with a nice warm fire going in the fire place. This is also the time of the year that I do a lot of baking because it doesn't warm up the house to an uncomfortable level. Outside: Well, if there is snow on the ground, I really do enjoy going outside with the kids and build snowmen and I really, really like when there is enough snow to go sledding.

Hi! I don't have any favorite things to do indoor, when it's cold out there. But when it's cold and there is snow, I like to go for a walk among the people or out in the nature and to take some pictures of the winter landscape. I can walk with hours and feel no cold, because I love, when it snows in winter, and if I have free time enough, I don't waste my time staying at home and sitting in front of the TV. I just go out and have fun. Today it snows for the first time this year, and when I saw the snow, I just jumped from the bed, washed my teeth, got dressed and went out for a walk with my girlfriend.

Ah, the winter months. How I love them. I also love to bake and watch classic movies, especially musicals, drink hot chocolate. Alas, I can not enjoy the lovely winter weather. Because, I live in the glorious city of Los Angeles. And it is either beautiful sunny, fair or it's rainy like no tomorrow. So if I wanted to enjoy any type of snowy weather, I would have to travel to somewhere like Big Bear.

I love the winter time for the snow! It's so much fun, even though I'm growing up I still love to get bundled up and go sledding down crazy big hills! There's this one sandpit we go to that has these massive slopes and we all get our crazy carpets out and have a blast there! Me and my friends also enjoy going tubing, and getting pulled behind a vehicle or a quad on a tube, it's soo much fun. My friend actually went on a tube that was going 100 behind a vehicle, it was intense. We like to go ice fishing when the lakes freeze up, and just have nice fires in the snow and sit around and drink. Sometimes we have big snow ball wars and build igloos and just spend the day in there. It's so much fun I love winter time!

Ice Skating - My older 3 at the skating rink
We just went Ice skating last weekend. We love to take the kids sledding, it's fun watching the little ones go down the hill. We'll have a few snowball wars every winter, usually once there are a few snow piles made by the plows, then hubby and I will each pick one as our fort, the kids will choose sides, and we have an all out war! Of course we build snowmen and things like that too. I've never been snowmobiling, snow shoeing, or skiing, they're all rather expensive hobbies when you have 5 kids. I'll stick with ice skating and sledding!

Hello 3SnuggleBunnies! Winter maybe a cold season but i like it very much..We can make big piles of snow and jump from 2-3 "level"..And also all the school gyms are open and we are the first in them :P Also i can go snowboarding somewhere..We have hills long two-three hundred meters..And when the big snowing starts - on the snowboards..Everyone from the city is on the hill and that makes snowboarding more fun because you snowboard and talk with them..Because the snow is high and if you "drop" nothing will happen to you..And in North bulgaria we have 1 meter snow..ITS SO COOL..And i described what i do in the winter season so :)

I started making my koolaid bags again. It's so cold out it's not even nice anymore. I don't like to cook at all. I don't mind snacking on some treats though. It's nice to see your still around mylot. I had to make a new account here. they deleted my account for some reason. (Giftsandbags) have a great holiday..
