Candle Fun

I used to when I was younger, but I have too many cats helping to want to burn candles these days, I don't want my house to burn down!

Hey Grandpa Bob! I also love to play with candle wax! I sometimes like to mold the hot wax and play around with it too! But, I think mine doesn't look as gross as yours because of the colors I use!lol I just love candles! I love the smells and love to just stare at them while they are burning! It just hypnotizes me! I am a candle freak and proud of it!

Oh yes, I love playing witH candles. I was only thinking yesterday, there is a lot of wax that needs to be trimmed from my fat candles and what a shame to waste it. I wish I knew how to make my own candles...I would need all the stuff to do the job, wicks, extra wax and anything else and I'm so far from anywhere that would sell such stuff. I suppose I could try online. I'm so broke at the moment due to being ripped off online and car repairs though, I have to lie low for a while.

I love candles but I have never really fussed with them. Looks and sounds interesting.

hi Grandpa Bob I love to burn candles too, and the ones that are scented too. I have never played around like that but I saw how you can actually seen designs in that wax.it is fascinating to see what could show up I can imagine.

I love to burn candles too and i also use candle warmers. I have experimented with candles also by letting some of the hot wax drip onto another candle wax being used also. It makes a neat design. I have tried them in water also.

I'm not a big fan of candles since I'm not really into scents but one that I love is Bayberry. My dad always burned bayberry candles at Christmas time and it's very difficult to find that scent. For the past 3 years, since he couldn't find any, I've been ordering them off the internet and they have become quite expensive! But he's worth it! I got one for myself this year and it makes my house smell like Christmas.

I used to have a candle making kit. It was fun playing with forms and colors and scents. That is long gone, but it would be cool to get one for my kids and do some of that together!

I used to love making patterns with different coloured candles in an old chianti bottle. Cool fun! Speaks to the arsonist in all of us ...

I love candles too and tend to burn them at every chance I get although I am not one to play with them...but I think everyone at some point in their life has stuck their finger in the wax to see the effect. This picture of your candle is way cool, it looks like a container of peanut butter...thanks for sharing!

Yes I love canles. I have tried to make some kind of statues after the candle burned out and cooled down. L.O.L.

I also like that candles, most of them now smell rose or other flowers smells.

We use candles for practical reasons but have never played with them as such. I use the christmas candle during christmas time. We decorate it with ribbon and shimmerings. Also there are these scented candles which when lit gives a sweet aroma around. I also have a potpourie which I burn on special occasons.

My daughter is into candles too. She has some in her bedroom which she burns every now and then. I had to disconnect the smoke detector in your room due to this, which Im not that happy about. I also have a nice collection of fancy candles. When we have visitors I like to set them up on the table and burn them. Some have a pleasant fragnance. I was given a gift of a Father Christmnas Candle last week., Its realy cute. Yoiu put a red or green candle inside the body of Santa and it glows. I dont play arround with the wax.

Hiya Grandpa Bob..Since I'm responding from email, can't see pic so I'll comment on it after I respond to your discussion. I tend to burn candles a lot myself, mainly in the winter when windows are shut tight and the scent tends to stay in the air longer. I never mess with them really cept to light them or put em out along with replacing them. I do want to try making my own soy candles someday.

I've made candles but never played with them. That looks nasty, btw.

That looks so cool! I love playing with candles. I'm sort of the people who like to get slightly burned, so I like to play with the wax. I just cover my finger in it, wait for it to dry, and then band my finger. =]
