I have the problem of black heads. Now, I have them on my cheecks, nose, and even chin. I heard that there is an instrument to take it out, but I don't know where to get it or how to do it. I am not very beauty concious. One of my friends noticed that I have black heads. She said that it will go off if I do a facial. I don't want to go for a facial just to remove black heads. What do you say?

I don't like ficals really. I found them to be quite painful. At least the one I had done. The steaming of my face to open up my pores wasn't so bad, but the most painful part was when they used this sharp tool to pluck them out. I even had bleding afterwords.
If you don't want to go that rout, see a dermitoligist. They can prescribe something to help dry up your skin and help take those puppies out. Also another suggestion is to wash your face a couple of times a day, a little more if it's hot outside. This will remove dirt and grime that causes the blackheads and dry out your skin in a bit more healthy way. Be paicent any treatment's going to take time.

Somebody told me that using scrubs continuously will help. I have been trying this for the past one week, but I couldn't see a good result. I live in a place which is hot almost througout the year. I should be more careful and wash my face often to keep it clean. Thanks for the response.

Hi, daliaj.
Here are my simple tips to get rid of blackheads;
1. Wash your face regularly with lukewarm water and a good cleanser at least 3 times a day.
2. Drink lots of fluids automatically you will not get black heads on your skin because the moister which water gives to the skin flushes away the toxins from the body and makes the skin smooth and supple. Rub a lemon peel on your skin to reduce the greasiness from it and it helps to remove the black heads too.
3. Make a homemade scrubber by soaking rice in the milk for 4 hours, grind them and make a paste. Use this paste on your body as a scrubber to remove the black heads but do not rub it too hard on the skin.
4. Taking steam on the facial skin helps in removing the black heads.
There are also Black heads removing strips are easily available at cosmetic stores and you can also use mild facial scrubbers, which are very useful in removing black heads from the skin.

Thank you for the ideas. I will try it out. I am very happy that Mylot helped me to get answer for one of my problems through a friend in another part of the world. I really liked the idea of home made scrub. I have been using scrub for the past one week, but I didn't see any fast results, but I keep continuing it as you said. I don't know if black head removing strips are availbale in my country - India. I will search for it in stores that sell beauty products.

Thank you so much for "best response". Home remedies is still best remedy, financially. Why spend much money on buying those products if you already have it in your place. Natural ingredients are also good to the skin but we have to be careful in mixing it, it might harm our skin. I'm living in Asia too and black head strips are available. You bought a facial scrub? One week is not enough. Just continue in using it but don't let those chemicals stay in your skin for so long.

Yes, doing facial is a very good option for you to get rid off black heads. You can also do the steaming at home for 5 to 7 minutes, (sensitive skin for 3 to 5 minutes). By this your skin pores will open up. Right after steaming take tissue paper, cover your one finger and scratch it out slowly but don't squeese. It is easy to take out at this time by fingers tip since your skin is quite tender at this time.
Most of the parlour don't use steamer. If you don't have steamer at home boil water and pour into a bucket, cover your head with towel and stay for the minutes according to your skin type. Now a days steamer are easily available in chemist shop. Its easy to use.
Best way is facial along with steaming. If you don't want to go to parlour you can buy the stuff according to your skin like face wash, face scrub, steamer and mask.
Steps are easy
1. Wash your face
2. Scrub your face for 2 to 4 minutes
3. Do steaming
4. Put mask
5. Wash it off with water.
You'll see the result. You can do twice in a week.

Thanks for your valuable respones. I recenlty bought a home made facial pack at a very resonable price. I tried it last week and this week. I think there is a change in my face. I also use scrub everyday now. My husband is coming after six months to meet me from a different country where he stays as a part of his work. So, I am concerned more about my beauty now a days. Thanks again.

the best method is prevention I'd say.
if you understand what acne and breakouts are, you can better fight against them.
wash you face daily with a good cream or scrub, look up the best methods of scrubbing, such as in circular motions, and wash for good periods of time.
I would recommend you talk to someone, like your doctor or dermatologist and find out whats best for you.
some people, when washing their face, believe that you just go in and get out.
but you have to work to clean them, almost like washing dishes or a car.
you don't just put soap on it and wash it off, you have to scrub.
do not apply lots of pressure though, you don't want to scrub your face off.
basically, acne and breakouts are longer term effects...
your pores produce an oil, when those pores get clogged, maybe dirt and dust?
they start to fill with bacteria.
the bacteria builds up and builds up, until one morning you wake up with a zit or pimple.
its the same story different chapter with black heads.
so wash with the cream or scrub that best suits you, and when you wash, do it for as long as possible.
for example, when I wash my face, I tend to take about 4-5 minutes.
but some people have sensitive skin, so they cannot wash for that long.
it depends on you really.
again I recommend you talk to someone, once you have YOUR acne fighting plan, go with it. if washing everyday for decent amounts of time does not work for you.
its likely a MEDICAL problem (a DOCTOR) problem.

You can use some acne cream. I don't really care for beauty treatments either but I use acne cream whenever I notice some blackheads. Or you can wash your face more often. That works too. Whenever you notice your face is oily, you can wash it quickly in the sink (don't use soak if you have dry skin). Hope this helps.

I have one of those tools, it is metal stick, one end is pointed, and the other has a circular end. The pointed edge is used to poke the skin if the stuff refuses to come out haha, and the circular end is pressed over the pimples, black heads or white heads in order to remove them. But you can always go to a facial center to have them removed hehe.
