Afraid to use new and unfamiliar features on my new cell phone

There is a paranoid of me, because from past unpleasant experience, and curiosity doesn't serve me well; sometimes, I want to click on the new feature on my cell phone, and all of the sudden, the phone trying to connect to the network, and it might charge me money for clicking on it. I was charged a couple of times without I actually using those features. So, right now, I got my new cell phone, I was afraid to click on those new features which I wasn't familiar with. Better for me to stick with the basic feature. It is really despicable for those service providers to charge customers for those hidden fees.

Cell providers need to make money somehow. They don't get enough by voice plans, so they have to think of some other way to provide for themselves and make up the extra money. Some providers won't charge hidden fees, but to prevent that from happening check with your provider to really understand the tearms of your contract. Knowing the ins and outs is important because you can catch mistakes. Sometimes they try to charge you for something, but your contract says 'no we don't charge for that' and you can get a credit on your next bill for it.

thanks for that advise. But, still those providers won't explain to you clearly, and you have to read the long list of the contract. I would rather go for the pre - paid plan rather than the monthly bill, don't you think? You only paid for what you served pre - hand, and you totally eliminate the chance being overcharged without knowing it.

Yes, I can understand your feelings. However, I still like to try many new features and see whether they are useful or not. I don't mind testing it although it has the possibility to harm my cellphone. If it really goes wrong, then I can reset my cellphone and that's OK. Although everything will be back to the original, but at least I can reinstall the software for my cellphone again. It just takes some time and then everything will be back to normal. By the way, I am using Samsung I900. I love China

I have lots of features on my cellphone, and I haven't used them all as of yet. I have the unlimited plan but I don't have IM, nor do I have email on my phone, as that costs me extra, and I don't need to IM on it anyway. I don't have the email features as it costs me $5 extra a month, and I would rather use it on the computer than the cell phone. There are features on my phone, that I will probably never use. It is nice to have lots of features though, as if I would ever want to use them, they are there. I do watch youtube videos on my cell phone, as it is one of the features on the phone. I do use the camera once in awhile, as it does take regular pictures and video as well. I like the phone a lot, and I have got lots of enjoyment out of it since I boufht it in August of this year. Take care, and happy mylotting.

I just a basic prepaid cell phone and it does have some features on it but I do not use them. I only have cell phone to talk on I do not care for all the extra that they are putting on a cell phone.
