If so what kind of dog do you have? Is it a big dog or a small dog? My dog (a doberman) is terrified of them. We just had one and a bolt of lightening hit somewhere close and all 90 pounds of her jumped up in my lap. LOL

2 of my 3 dogs are terrified of thunderstorms. One is a long-haired chihuahua and the other is a hound dog. As far as I know they have always been this way. I'm not sure how it started, but I guess when they were puppies.

He is a German Shepard / Chow mix. He's super laid back most of the time, including when it's storming.

Isn't that strange? My cats hate being rained on too but love the snow. My cats are indoor cats (but have an outside pen) so just come inside when it starts raining. Thunder and lightening only bothers a couple of them -- most of them aren't afraid of it like my big bad dog!! LOL

My dog, Bingo, isn't really scared of the storms. I love to sit and watch the lightning strikes out the window, but when he hears the first clash of thunder he comes running and stays by my side the entire time. I think he feels he needs to protect me from them lol. It is really cute to watch he coming running to me so fast. He loves to be out on the deck when storms come rolling through, until it really starts to downpour then he heads for the door to be let in.

Oh yeah my dog is terrified of storms. He is a medium sized dog. Every time he hears thunder he starts whining and comes running. And there are times when we have to leave the house during a storm cause of the possibility of a toronado and he really gets upset then, he howls and whines and scratches at the door, i always feel so bad for leaving him like that but gotta protect the family first ya know.

A cat of mine was sensitive to storms because he had a pin in his leg and he'd sit in the center of the house before a storm due to the pressure in the air. The dogs arent scared though.
