I use bluetooth with my cell phone all the time. I do this especially when I'm out by myself. Having your hands free is something that is important in everyday life so having a device that allows for that, with no strings attached sure helps. I may not drive, but I do use a manual wheelchair. So having my hands free to move about sure comes in handy. Even though when I'm out with George He pushes me, he can't always be there so being able to do things myself sure helps.
As for having your hands free while driving, that is the law in most states. In fact in most states talking on the phone without a hands-free device is illgel. So your son's smart to stay ahead of the game.

Hello kaylachan
your point is correct and I appreciate it. Any device which can be used handsfree makes it convenient for us and we can mind some other work. If at all I get any calls, I will attend to it by using a blue tooth and either by washing the clothes, cleaning the vessels or mopping the floor, I will be talking to that person. In this way I need not stop my work and at the same time I can converse with the people called too. In the case of my son, he will attend only emergency calls while driving that too halting his car in a permissable place. In India we should not use a phone while driving. it is against the law.

I think using handsfree is a good option for using cellphone while driving. No matter what kind of handsfree you use, a cable handsfree or bluetooth (wireless) handsfree, both are helpful while driving. But however, i think using cellphone while driving is still risky. It really needs more attention and double focus on the cellphone and on the drive. I personally don't really like to accepting a call while driving because i really understand the risk and sometimes it would bothering other people because we will slowing down our speed at that time. But if it's an urgent call from important people, i will stop my vehicle beside the safe area on the road and accepting that call before i continue my driving. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

hello Dianmelydia
You are right. While driving, using a cell phone is risky but we can not switch off as we may receive any emergency calls which needs to be attended. So he wouldn't switch it off. But if he gets any ordinary call, he will say to them that he is driving, and call them later. he also does the same as you do. Thank you for responding and sharing your valuable views my friend. have a nice week end dear. bye.

Hi vathsala!
I refrain from talking on my cell phone when I am driving. I do not use blue tooth device for talking on my cell phone. I have observed that one of the Chemist in our area, uses it and if he is talking on cell phone through blue tooth and simultaneously attending to customers like me, it becomes difficult to understand whom he is talking to........lol!
I think blue tooth is convenient device to talk, while driving, however, keeping it glued to our ear, looks odd to me, because you just cannot pull it off from your ear because you never know, when the call is going to come or you need to call someone.

HI Vathsala!
I fully agree with you that bluetooth looks like ear-phone. Initially, on seeing our Chemist using it, I could not make out what he was upto. I in fact had to ask him about the device...........lol!
Given the choice, I won't like to use it.

Hi deepak
It is true. We can not make out with whom the chemist is talking. such people should not attend any personal calls while dealing with the customers or if it is any important call, should ask his assistant to attend the customer. Because for a trader, customer is more important. Even I do not like it to be glued because it looks like a ear phone used by a deaf person.

It's a good idea, if you ask me, but no! I don't typically answer calls when I'm driving, just because I don't trust myself..And because it's distracting! I limit myself to listening to music and smoking while driving, but talking on the phone while driving is a distraction I just can't handle at this point - especially in the winter. Bluetooth looks kind of funny, if you ask me, and I'm not really *important* enough (I don't get enough incoming calls) for it to be necessary, if you ask me.

Hey maezee
You are right. I agree that indeed it is a distraction which may also result in accidents whether major or minor due to this distraction. So it is wise not to use the mobile while driving especially in the crowded area. Thanks for responding

Hi neelima
Even my son will use blue tooth. Simply he asks me to converse keeping it in the ear and I like the colour. while driving the car if at all he gets any calls, he will slow down in a corner and attends the call if it is an important call or he will say that he will call later as he is driving or if it is my husband or another son, he will give the blue tooth to me and ask me to converse.

No! I don't use. Even with a bluetooth handsfree there is a big danger of an accident, because of distraction. So better no phone calls, while driving.

Hi Nautilus
Your thinking is indeed wise. Because most of the accidents do occurs due to talking while driving only and the second cause is drunken driving. It is better to switch off our mobiles while driving. Thanks my friend for sharing your views.

I do not have blue tooth for my phone. But my son is having it. While driving he is able to pick up important calls immediately and gives instructions then and there without getting disturbed. Since it is hands free, it is very convenient for people at work or driving.

Hi yugasini
Blue tooth is useful while you are at work. It is handsfree you can ask your friends or neighbours about it and they will help you in fixing it and explain you about its usage.

Mine is blue tooth capable, but I have never used one nor do I even own one. I have priced them and they are expensive, so I have decided that I didn't want to get it at this time, as I just think other things are more important at the moment. I usually never get any calls when I am driving anyway, and if I do, I would rather be parked, as it isn't quite as dangerous as driving and talking. I might have to break eown and get one though, because as of January 1st of next year, her in Oregon, we can't talk on the cellphone and drive without a hands free handset, and I am all for that, it is just a little hard fro me right now. Take care, and happy mylotting.

Hi Deepa
Indeed blue tooth is useful in so many ways. I can do my work while conversing with the people and I will mind my cooking also while conversing with the friends or look after the washing machine while washing the clothes or water the plants since it is hand free, my work will not be disturbed.
