Do you still comment discussions after you have given a best response?

Now this is for persons who comemnt the discussion they start.Let me categorically state that I do but I was just thinking that many persons may say that after they have given a best response ,they are essentially saying that the discussion is over. But is it? What is your view?

I suppose the discussion is over when someone has nothing more to say on the matter. Some people rate the best response to quick I have been guilty of that.I normally wait and see for a couple of weeks then add best response.Even then If someone wants to comment that is fine.I will respond and indeed have to comments made long after the discussion has in effect finished like I say it is very open ended.

I will unless the discussion brings in many responses. Then I don't always have the time to respond to all of them. I will respond to a discussion that already has a best response. It won't keep me away from responding if I understand or know what the discussion is about and if I can add any input.

No . I don't think so. It isn't the other person's fault they are coming to the post After the best response was chosen.I read Every response I get. If I find I need to respond , I do.My worse fear is to deem a post the best only to read another which Should have been deemed the best. I try to wait at least a week before choosing . but there are times when I just starting to read a post and I know , I just feel it is the best. I usualy Stil wait at leasta few days.

There are many posts that I start that will Never have a best response. It can't.It is apure mater of opinion. Then I have posts where There was a tie. Two great responses and I couldn't decide between the two of them!Have you ever given the best response to an opposing view to your own?

I always try to respond to all the responses in my discussions even after I have marked a best response. It's only right to respond to someone who has taken the time to post in my discussion. And just because you have chosen a best response doesn't mean the discussion is over. I think you can still carry on as long as people are responding to it.

I don’t believe a discussion is ever over. I still welcome responses that are months old and I will certainly comment on all responses I receive regardless of whether I have issued a BR or not. I like the idea of topics always been left open because there are always new people, new ideas and new angles to be added and that is part of the MyLot fun! I would hate for discussions to be closed off and no more to be added ever...

Yes. I have done that before. I do not start many discussions anymore though because I never have the time to go back and answer everyone. I would rather respond to my friends discussions.

I try to comment when others comment even though the best response was given. Its not fair to ignore otheres efforts just because i decided that i liked someones answer already or..someone elses answer tickled my funny bone or made me go hmmmmmm i never thought of it that way really.

Yes I do. I feel that if somebody takes the time to respond to my discussion, I owe them a comment...whether they want it or not!!! As a matter of fact, I commented on a response to a discussion that is 3 months old just today.

No, it's not over. Other's can still express their views. However, I don't post anything if my opinion has already been stated, even if not by the person chosen best. So, if my opinion isn't there, I will still comment. Just as if a topic doesn't have a best response and my opinion is already there, I won't respond to it. It just gets annoying seeing a topic where everyone says the same thing.
