Twilight...I prefered the books. The movies left a lot out. Edward seems really creepy and stalker like to me in the movies. He was more romantic in the books.
Harry Potter...I have to say I love both. But the movies do leave a lot out. Then again, how do you get 400+ pages into a 2 hour movie?
I haven't read the LOTR's books, but the movies I didn't enjoy. There was entirely too much time showing that they were walking to keep me interested!
I'm looking forward to Percy Jackson. My boys and I just finished the first novel, and plan to start the second after they get back from their dad's.

I prefer reading the novel more than the movie. I like to read the novel and then watch the movie just to see what all was left out on the movies. But I prefer the novel more because I feel like you get more info out of the novels.

I prefer reading the novel first before watching the movie.right now,I absolutely would like to see The Lovely Bones.I have seen the trailer and read the movie synopsis.I think it is a good film, really my favorite genre.I haven't read the book, and while I would like to see the film,I have a bit of hesitation.movie adaptations will either remove some parts in the book or change the background stories of some characters.I would rather enjoy the book first before judging if the movie adaptation is great.

There is no question to this. The novels are always better! I understand why the movies never measure up, though, because that would be one really long movie to make a great book transfer completely. Still, I'd rather read the book than watch the movie any day.

For me it really depends, but after i read the books that were made into movies, i still prefer the novels. It keeps your imagination going on, and the exact details of the scenarios are pictured in your mind. The problem with movies, is that it doesnt have the luxury of creating the whole novel into a movie.

That depends on the novel and the movie.
Twilight - Haven't seen or read it.
Harry Potter - Definitely the book. The movies are simply not good enough in story telling.
Lord of The Rings - Definitely movies... the novels were okay but the movies were better.
Godfather - I'm pretty sure the movies are better than the novel.

Hi Prettychai
In my opinion the movie hardly ever does the novel justice I would prefer the book over the movie but then again you can get nice visual effects with the movie and it makes the book really come alive once you've read it .
I would imagine it would sometimes depend on how good a job Hollywood does in making the book into a movie

I think the books are always better- its easier to understand the characters' thoughts and whatnot. But I don't Not like the movies, lol. I do like seeing the movies, and comparing them to what I pictured while reading the books- sometimes they're worthy and sometimes not so much.
