Memory! That's it!
Do you have a good memory?
Is it long term?
Or short term?
Or both?
Do you remember phone messages when someone called WITHOUT writing it down?
I myself cannot.
What was the last thing you forgot that got you into trouble?

I have both things, a short and long memory.. I believe that memory of a person goes with age and the things that made a person remember some recalled memories are those who have big change or influence in their lives and served as a pattern in life. That even they go old, still they recall such incidences in life.. It is already attached in them.
Some memories are short because of many contributing factors that tend their mind out of control.
but, If a person has an active mind, then his memory is also said to be active..

I used to have a GREAT memory. My family still claims my memory is great, but I have noticed that it is getting worse as I grow older! I have never done well writing myself notes... I leave them and don't take them with me so they don't do me any good! :-( I still remember my cousin's original telephone number from when we were children over 30 years ago, but cannot seem to memorize my doctor's phone number (and we got there often, what with kids and my cancer, etc etc etc).... so who knows what that is!

That is weird!
That's something you think you would know off by heart!

I remember faces, events and images almost forever. I'm terrible with names. Before I moved to Oklahoma and didn't know anyone, I used to see people all the time that I knew from somewhere. I just couldn't remember if it was from school, somewhere I'd worked before or if they perhaps just worked at a store that I frequented. Not being able to come up with a name is bad enough if you are alone. You can get by with small talk and never mention their name. If you are with some one it's embarassing not to be able to introduce them. That's where I get into trouble more than anywhere else. Have you ever wondered if types of good or bad memory has something to do with being right or left handed? I am left handed, and always wondered if other lefties were better at image-driven memories. And if right-handed people were better at remembering abstract details like names and dates. My husband is right-handed and he's much better and names and stuff. Any one else?

I have a very strange memory. I can remember numbers really well, and quite a lot of them, for a long time. But I can never remember people's names or anything related to Geography. I can drive down the same street every day for years, and not be able to describe a single house on it, but I could tell you the range of addresses.

I have a very bad memory to be honest. I wish i could do something about it. I am getting older and it's getting worse.
