I thought I was, and I guess I still am to a degree, but I am not as good as I thought I was.
I'm quite cynical and tend to think people are up to something even when they are not!
Are you a good judge of character?
Do you get it right most times?
Or wrong most times?

I always thought I was a good judge of character, but my life has shown me how very wrong I was. As it turns out, I'm a terrible judge of character because I tend to trust everyone I meet until they show me why I can't, and by then it's usually too late. Everyone I've dated (until my current girlfriend) has seemed smooth and desirable, but the second I move in with them, or commit to them in some way that's hard to get out of, they start to show their true colors. It happens with friends too. Luckily, I found someone (by chance, not because I learned anything) who turned out to be amazing. I've tested her so many times and she's perfect.

I don't know if I consider myself cynical, but I certainly can judge someone's character only after a short period of time of knowing them. I am above average when it comes to a perception of people, and it's not something easy to live with. Because of this, I often put up walls with all people, so I don't get to know their true character. I must say that I often try to give them the chance to proove me wrong, but in the end, what I perceive them to be in the first place, is usually right.
