Criminal turning spritual

It is my personal experience that i have come across a person and he was a notorious criminal. He is involved in many cases. But one day he started talking about god and even he is going for regular prayers. He started giving alms to poor and the needy people. He distributed his illegal earnings to the poor. At present he doesn't have anything but he is the happiest man. Is is really possible for everyone like this incident.

lots of criminals turn their lives around after going to jail or prison and finding religion there. they clean themselves up, come out and lead a straight life.

Only God knows what goes on in a man's heart. But I believe that man, in spite of his evil nature, has the capacity to change for the better if he wants to. All of us are basically sinners and needs salvation from sin and only by the grace of God through faith that we can attain that.
