Do you get too much engrossed while reading a novel and if it captivates your mind can you make you cry due to the story, it happens with me that while I am watching I may feel very sad but when it comes to a book it never makes me feel like crying but I have one of my cousin who cries while reading and his eyes are wet due this. Does it happen with you?

I think I am very emotional. It is easy for me to drop tears to see some moving parts. In fact I can even cry when I read the comics and cartoons. So it is not strange if I cry when I read a novel. I love China

I can't say I've ever cried reading a book. I am not an openly emotional person and there is often a great deal of preparation before a sad moment in a book. Sometimes a single sad moment can take three or four pages to come to a head and by then, you kind of already know what's going to happen just maybe not exactly how. With a movie, those four pages are condensed into just a few minutes so the sadness comes as more of a blow. Plus I do most of my reading in a public place and I'd look a little silly sobbing over my book in the middle of Starbucks. I do sometimes laugh at funny parts in books. They seem to be more sudden and unexpected and it's harder not to react outwardly.

Have you ever read Marley and Me? Are you a big animal person? If you are you should definitely check out Marley and Me (the book--movie was good but not as good as reading the book!!) I cried like the biggest baby while I was reading it...I also cry every time I watch the movie...okay AND I cried when I listened to the audio book...lol. But I am just a big animal person and sad animal stories always affect me. And Marley and Me is definitely the saddest I've read. (It also made me laugh out loud a lot too).

Sometimes during a really good audiobook I can feel like I might cry. But during books and movies I don't tend to actually cry. With a paperback, I cannot gather any feeling from it but I am most likely to cry while reading a paperback because I get extremely frustrated with reading and that will make me cry.

yes there have been many times that I cry during reading. Especially when it's about little children. IT's a little embarassing but I guess i'm an emotional person. it's worse when i'm on a plane or something and there are people very close by.

I actually don't read novels. For me, it sounds very boring so I haven't ever tried crying while reading any books.

Yes, I cried sometimes if I read sentimental novels, it happens all the time. I am too emotional so when I read something that really touched my heart, then I will really shed tears. I cannot recall what novels I cried most, but usually if it is super drama story that's the time that my tears really fall.

It has happened in the past. But not anymore. I really did used to get engrossed in reading and some books were extra special and I was sensitive about them. And the endings were awful because I didn't want them to end!

The last book I read that made me cry was "Almost Heaven" by Judith McNaught. The hero was so mean it really made me cry.Yeah...I used quite a few tissues after reading that book. Crying makes my eyes puffy and gives me a runny nose, not a pretty sight!!!

I do all the time. It seems kind of sappy, but I get so involved in what I'm reading. I can read the same book several times and, even knowing what is going to happen, still start bawling my eyes out. I tend to be an emotional type person anyway though. I even cry watching movies.
