Favourite Game of 2009?

What is your favourite game from this year (regardless of console)?
Well, since I can't run many of the new games that came out this year (Like the saboteur and borderlands which i would have liked to play), I'll have to say either Hammerfight or Machinarium. I played Hammerfight when it used to be hammerfall 2 years ago, never thought they'd even finish the game but it turned out well besides a few graphical things i wished they didn't change like the timer. I also had a problem with random explosions with other crafts, if you destroy some of them even by just grazing them they give you instadeath.
As for machinarium, well, it speaks for itself really. I was never into point and click games til i played Samorost. It's a very solid game focusing on gameplay and was very to the point.

Don't own any console and my PC is 7 years outdated but I could play new Tales of The Monkey Island and I loved it so it gets my vote.
And from what I've seen Need For Speed Shift looks really sweet. Even tho Need For Speed 2 was the only game in the series I ever liked, I think they made a good job with the new one.

lol, my comp is 6 years old. I'm actually downloading Tales of The Monkey Island now and I liked Need for Speed 2 as well but I only played that one and a bit of Carbon on Xbox. I don't consoles either besides PC.

I'm still at chapter one of monkey island. It's pretty funny. This is the first one from the series I've played but I'm planning to get remake of the first one. The remake it's the same as original just with remade high resolution characters and backgrounds but you can switch any time between the original version and the new just by pressing space on keyboard.

I'm very partial to New Super Mario Bros. That game is awesome. I grew up on Mario on the consoles for the TV so when I knew another Mario platformer was coming out for a console I had to jump on the chance to own it. I'm not disappointed either. I'm quite pleased with the game. I just wish I had more time to finish it!

I used to play Super Mario on the NES. It was a fun game. I never got the chance to play the newer titles on consoles since I don't own any of them.

I am a fps person, so I would have to say halo 3 ODST, call of duty modern warfare 2, assasins creed 2, uncharted, and killzone =]

Fair enough, I prefer RTS games but do enjoy FPS games occasionally.
